1. Is there hope for this guy yet?
What was Matthews' Cheney-related question?

8. Something about Cheney doing a press conference
And Williams asked - what could Cheney would say? What frame of reference will he have? Would he answer why they brought in 8000 cots instead of 10k or 6k? Who will speak truth to power?

That's about it.

13. not wanting photos of the dead....
is the same as the pictures from AbuGhraib, or the photos of the coffins. Its images that reflect poorly on the administration and could very likely incite. Reporters, almost to a person have been very affected. Something is rocking their souls.

5. Amazing! I really started hating Brian W. during the impeachment...
shenanigans, when he said, "We're waiting for President ClintoN to arrive. We always have to wait for him. He's never on time."

30 seconds later, Big Dog arrived.

GGGGRRrRR!!!!!

20. If Brian W.'s that obsessed with punctuality, ...
Edited on Wed Sep-07-05 06:25 PM by txindy
Then the delay in getting relief to the people of NO and other regions after Katrina must've eaten him up inside. It wasn't about a press conference, it was about life and death with the results floating by right in front of his eyes.

Whatever it takes. Maybe he'll be less anal about the little things in life. Like, did he ever consider that maybe Clinton had real WORK to do in the minutes he wasn't answering Brian's questions? That certainly hasn't been an issue with Junior. All the time in the world to spare and STILL nothing gets done. I think Brian's finally cluing in to that fact, now.

6. One can hope that these remarks are signs that the wheels are coming off
the neocon machine. Every chip, every ding, every verbal aside is another small step in dismantling this beast.

It will take time, but there are signs that change is over the far horizon.

17. I don't know that a Cheney press conference is planned...
...The past few days, every time I catch Matthews for a few minutes, he's asking his guest about having one person in charge. Perhaps he asked Williams if Cheney should give a p/c. I was half listening and then Williams asked his truth to power question and I seriously listened after that.

Cheney is the big guy to go get things done. We don't trust Dick, you dumbass Tweety and if you do, you're a fool.

16. And Besides, What Has He Ever Done?
The company he ran was a huge success before he worked there, it almost went into the toilet while he was in charge, and he used gov't connections to get them new biz. Without federal welfare, he would have ruined Haliburton. The balance sheets and cash flow statements are abundantly clear.

When in Congress, he sponsored not one single piece of legislation that ever benefitted anyone aside from a small special interest in Wyoming.

He's never gotten anything done, except to make himself successful and rich. Why would Matthews think he's the guy now? That's just illogical.
The Professor

22. Ok...hopefully I'll see you guys later....
I'm going to seek cover now. :)

Just kidding of course. But I'm totally surprised.

We've got David Gregory questioning Scotty Boy, and B.W. asking "who will speak truth to power."

Do you guys think the Bushies must have really done something, privately, to piss of the MSM? Maybe they took away space from them in the Press Room of the WH or something.

24. You're absolutely right....
The media has had their eyes wide opened by what happened in New Orleans.

Most of the people in the media lead very priviledged lives, and I honestly don't think many of them had any clue about the poverty crisis in this country, and particularly in New Orleans.

And I think that particular angle of this story (the poverty factor and the fact that many people couldn't afford to leave) has had a profound affect on the media.

It's like all of their assumptions about this country have been blown. Well, it's about time that happened.

And yes, I'll look for those batteries! :)

26. Did he not see the dying people last week? He seems as isolated
and clueless as Bush. He doesn't seem to get the horror show everyone witnessed and that Bush can't change that fact that thousands probably died last week because of the Feds delayed response.

I can't e-mail him. My Outlook doesn't work.

Please e-mail him. He so doesn't get it.
