4. Can you explain the context in which Wolf brought this up?

I know that the troops who have been posted to Iraq are not too happy.

And I can imagine that maybe they would decide to split once they are back in this country.

In fact, CNN had a memorial page to everyone who died in just Iraq,
their name, their date of death, their home town, their military rank, AND HOW THEY DIED.

Seemed to me like there were an awful lot of military-trained personnel who somehow managed to kill themselves while cleaning their guns.

remember the old marching yell:

I don't think there have been lots of fatalities from people cleaning their 'guns'.

Of course, I don't know what they do these days with the high levels of female personnel.
