Ding. Ding. It's time to play the Accountability Game.
Edited on Wed Sep-07-05 02:39 PM by tsuki
Same as you and I, government needs to start taking Bureaucratic Responsibility for its actions. FEMA did not perform. People died.

Now, let's play the Accountability Game and make sure it doesn't happen again. And if we must hire someone in FEMA that understands Emergency Management, then let's hire them. The Political Unions, i. e. the Spoils System, must be busted. They need to realize that if someone can do the job better, for possibly less money, that they can be outsourced. They are not "owed" a job or benefits.

Same as you and I, folks.

4. Stop and think you are reffering to the death of thousands as a game
don't kid yourself calling it as such devalues accountability and those who lost so much!

5. It's NOT the "blame game"
First of all, all Democrats must stop addressing the Bush "spin" talking points. Republicans are (very successfully) spinning attention AWAY FROM Bush by using these statements..."let's NOT play the blame game....now is not the time to point fingers".... Oh, really.

Journalists, MSM, political cartoonists, Republican strategists, AND unfortunately even some Democrats have become WILLINGLY entangled in this Republican web of verbal deception. If we are not allowed to "play the blame game" NOW, and we are not allowed to "point fingers" NOW, the strategists have successfully, again, sheltered the weak, clueless, impotent leader we now call the President.

Democrats must...MUST...bring the discussion under their control. Talk about "accountability". Talk about American values, and how parents strive to teach their children that mistakes MUST be addressed IMMEDIATELY...or the mistakes may be repeated. Discuss what George Santayana said, "Those who fail to learn from history, are destined to repeat it." America does NOT want to repeat this horrible example of incompetence....therefore we must discuss, analyze, and correct our mistakes. So, never again will our nation be caught so unprepared. This is NOT a difficult concept.

All Democrats need to STOP discussing this deflective tactic as if it has legitimacy. It does not. We NEED TO KNOW what went wrong....and we NEED TO KNOW who is responsible!

Accountability....yes, ACCOUNTABILITY is the name of THIS game.

6. That is how dems can "frame" the debate. Accountability. That is
what must be called for. But, I am more than angry that the Republicans who are masters at the "blame game" are the ones whining about it.

I have been preaching ACCOUNTABILITY all day.
