Evacuees flown to DC - and they weren't told where they were going?
I've heard a couple of stories about this tonight ... that evacuees were flown to DC without being told where they were going. Isn't that a bit like being kidnapped? WTF? Have these poor folks lost all of their rights??

2. here in Texas we have seperated families and at least
five minors sent without family. It had to do with how they divided people up to put them on planes. The level of "so what" when we call the RC or Fema or the governor's office is astounding.

The *excuse* is that it takes too much time----we have people here trying to exchange with people in Tulsa so each is nearer family.

W_D is at the shelter now---I'm heading over to do o'night shift so she can teach in the a.m. but there is a huge police presence and a total disregard in the organization for *people*---its like they think they are housing prisoners. Gotta go, W_D might be on later and give more info.

BTW, we got people straight from their rooftops and in the 3 hour flight only water. People were ill, starving, filthy and the condition of the infants was a crime. a crime!

Mr. W_D

3. It has been like this on all the busses.
From the first NG scanner reports, that was the first order. "Don't tell the passengers where they are being taken." Just like train boxcars in the 1940s. Right , avoid the showers. (Especially in the fundy white churches).

5. I saw a thread earlier that this happened in Utah, also.
Same situation and IIRC they are at a military base.

10. I wouldn't jump to conclusions
Saw their arrival at the DC Armory on the local news this evening. More than a few have relatives in the area, according to the report. One gentleman specifically stated on camera that he was looking for his nephew in Alexandria, VA (had lost the phone nr). Also showed a bunch of ppl sitting on the Armory steps because they had relatives inside (but the Armory was "closed" to the public for the evening, which I thought *very unfortunate*).
