Lt. Gov. in CA says that Ahnuuld could be charged for sex battery
I have no link but this was on one of the cable news stations a couple of hours ago.

It was stated that the "Lt. Gov. of California believe that criminal charges could be in order due to sexual battery". They did not mention that the Lt. Governor is Cruz Bustamante! :D

Then they went on to say how Ahnuuld was basically out of the race after admitting that he did it as accused (the 6 women that came out are not liars).

Furthermore, now a women's legal association in California is asking any other women to come forward because this is a real issue that has some very potent ramifications!

In other words Ahnnulld you better run and hide because no one wants a man that treats women the way you do you SOB!!!

5. Yes, however...
Most of those were cast when Schwarzenegger had no or little lead anyway. His "surge" came only within the past week. If we can blunt that and mobilize well, then we can win.

7. well....
There's that counter-recall recall that aparently will be started on 8 October IF Ahnuld wins on Tuesday.

I think the counter-recall recall will be all the more potent when Californians realize that they've just elected a serial sex offender and Nazi sympathizer to run their state.

19. I will, if necessary, sign a recall petition.
I have no doubt that the Democratic leadership would oppose this, but that's beside the point. It may fall to independent progressives to get that ball rolling. I suspect that the bay area would be the treasure trove of signatures in such a case.

Democrats would be accused of hypocrisy, but if the leadership avoided endorsing it until it qualified, then they could say, "We didn't support the idea, but now that it's a reality, we must run a candidate."

But, I'm not focused on that right now. Now, we must make a great effort to win the election before us. The deck has been stacked against us from the start, but we can certainly win!

We can hope to politically destroy him in any event. We must keep the pressure on in every possible way. I don't know if any single story is decisive, but between these things and working hard to win on election day, we may pull it off.

11. vote no etc.
LAmenegger will not drop out and as far as the absentee votes go that number is fairly normal for CA. The high number of Undecided would mean that the people that voted absentee would have voted that way regardless (according to zogby). Anyhoo, IF ahnold has to keep answering questions about this then he may blow up. But remember he has been given a free ride by the press so it could be that he just continues his bus trip and keeps letting the media run pictures of that. I already voted NO On recall, yes on bustamante.

Edited on Fri Oct-03-03 04:04 PM by stopthegop
he won't drop out...will probably win .... and a legal opinion from Bustamante means nothing at this point...

and in point of fact he did not admit to doing what he was accused of...more of a blanket apology...meaningless...but not a confession

the fact four of the six women mentioned are anonymous in the article makes it look suspicious to many people...and as another poster said, lots of ballots are already cast..

47. Indeed, dream on!
The die is cast: there are more than enough stupid voters who LIKE Ah-nuld, repeat, LIKE him, to elect him with a large margin. I doubt that there is anything he could do now, to lose.

This is how Ronnie won 48 states in 1984: the voters LIKED him, even though most didn't really agree with his policies.

49. Beside the point.
No, if the actor wins, I think we're fine personally. But that's not the point. The right deploys fascist hordes of frothing-at-the-mouth savages. We need our own activists to fight, and give as good as they get. This is indeed a struggle, and we shouldn't get too academic or squeamish about it.

54. I had heard he was a pig but I had not idea he was this bad....
Any man who goes up to a woman he doesn't even know and sticks his hand up her dress is a complete PIG and should be charged with sexual battery. THAT is very sick behavior and there is something DRASTICALLY wrong with it. IF he is elected - he will get himself in trouble REAL soon because when you have that lack of impulse control you cannot help yourself.

I would NOT be surprised if he has atually raped a woman.

If he gets in office there will be more and more stories coming out I'm sure. I would bet my bottom dollar that someone charges him with sexual battery or rape.

17. No offense but I don't see how this is possible
The law passed to proscute Catholic priests after the statute of limitations was expired was shot down so they can't go after the old cases. They would have to go after newer cases.

I think is this were actually going to happen it would already be reported on major media.

I'm not knocking you I am just skeptical.

39. I have noticed the most disgusting trend
Most of the talking heads, including Dems, have been saying that it's admirable that Arnold was a man and apologized for this. I think each one who thinks that what Arnold did can be covered over with a general apology is as guilty as Arnold. Women do not deserve to be treated like that and it is NEVER okay to do what Arnold did! No amount of "Well, I'm sorry if I hurt you" is ever going to be good enough. Arnold should go to jail for his crimes.

55. Who has said this? Can you please list them for me because I intend
to send every one of them a letter "ripping" them a new one. WHAT he has done is sexual battery - one step below rape. As far as I'm concerned - this is just as bad if not worse than making racist comments. Women should not take this. What kills me is all of them act like it's no big deal.

http://www.womensenews.org/article.cfm/dyn/aid/1425/context/archive
"National statistics on rape indicate that 13.4 percent of women in the U.S. have been forcibly raped sometime during their lifetime, but that percentage is much higher for some states, such as in Alaska where 20.9 percent of women have been forcibly raped, reports new data released by the Sexual Assault and Trauma Resource Center of Rhode Island."

I've been attacked a few times by guys and if it weren't for the fact I'm an athlete and pretty strong I probably would have been raped and I'm sure there are many women (maybe some men) here that could say the same thing.

56. We all need to write letters, e-mails to any media outlet that "condones"
that pigs behavior. This is just as bad if not worse than making a racist statement.

In addition, pigman's behavior should NOT be excused. We should have nationwide protests. As far as I'm concerned this is a "shot across the bow" - similar to the Anita Hill case. We need to KICK ASS.
