Michelle Malkin to Bush ----- Fire Michael Brown
Edited on Mon Sep-05-05 03:56 PM by yellowjacket7
During his visit to Mobile, Ala., on Friday, President Bush singled out Michael D. Brown, head of the Federal Emergency Management Agency, for praise:

"Brownie, you're doing a heck of a job."

Really? "Brownie's" job is to direct the federal response to natural disasters such as Hurricane Katrina. Let's review his public statements during the past week:

- He admitted that he didn't act more aggressively because as late as last Sunday he expected Katrina to be a "standard hurricane" even though the National Weather Service in New Orleans was already predicting "human suffering incredible by modern standards."

- He proved himself utterly clueless about the disaster unfolding in New Orleans. He claimed that the federal relief effort was "going relatively well" and that the security situation in New Orleans was "pretty darn good."

- He blamed the flood victims in New Orleans for failing to evacuate on time, even though local authorities failed to make municipal vehicles available to residents who could not drive or did not own their own cars.

"It took four days to begin a large-scale evacuation of people stranded in the Superdome stadium and to bring in significant amounts of food and water to an American city easily accessible by motorway," the Observer notes. "Relief agencies took half that time to reach Indonesia after the Boxing Day tsunami. "

Funny thing is, Michelle was on a bunch of right-wing shows putting all the blame on Blanco and Nagin. Now she realizes this isn't flying too well as there is a lot of evidence against BushCo. Their martyr now has to be none other than Michael Brown, Bush's man. Yes, they are getting desperate.

3. More like the spirit of Marie Laveau...
I can't believe that this is coming from miss "it was OK to imprison innocent Japanese during WWII". Wonder what her angle is, 'cause it sure as hell ain't the truth!

4. You know there will have to be a fall guy. But it's not supposed to
be Brown, Bush should be the fall guy. He's derelict of his duties as commander in chief and making out like a commander in thief as the tragedy unfolds--cutting gas mixture regulations, instituting posse comatatus, and now nominating Roberts. They are probably huddled together now trying to find some other atrocious bill to pass in the shadow of all this.

5. The gallows pole sits waiting in the distance.... sure they are getting
desperate. They know there is enough tape, data, timelines and more to refute every spin Rove can dream up.

6. The buck never stops with Bush
Why wasn't Bush getting on Brown's ass during the 5 days of inactivity instead of playing golf, eating cake, and giving a guitar concert? Bush always proudly proclaims he delegates his office activities. But the delegator has to constantly supervise whether or not what he delegates is actually getting done. That's a good administrator, which Bush is NOT.

8. What is IT with all the damn nicknames?
Brownie?! This pResident is just beyond the pale. It is not appropriate in a public setting to call people by nicknames! This coming from the man who went APE SHIT when a reporter didn't address him as "Mr. President!" This is just one MORE example of his superiority complex!

10. Bush is responsible 100%
He appointed people based on ideology and loyalty, not competence, talent, skill, or knowledge.

That by my standards is treason.

18. didnt they spend the most time on Malkin's blog, though, taking care
to point out that she blamed the state/local govt?

I saw it, but it's already fading from memory, and I have clear bias against Wolf--well deserved, of course--and his crew for being the worst of BUsh toadies

17. their version of "balance"
as in covering global warming science

if two under the table paid scientists say there's no global warming, and two thousand scientists say there is, the story will say that some scientists say there is global warming and some say there isn't

doesn't matter how much the weight of criticism goes against the thugs, they won't talk about that; only that there are views from both sides

they DID take pains to show, in a poll, how the public is pissed at the government for FUBARing the NO deal, they DON'T hold the president responsible!
