I will Never Ever Believe That California Will Elect Arnold
Until I see it. I can't even imagine it. I can't comprehend it. Are people so afraid that they would do something this dumb?

I still remember the first polls taken - Arnold was way behind, but then suddenly the next day, we were being told that he's in the lead.
He's been leading ever since.

I still refuse to believe it. Are people really that dumb? Americans are intellectually dishonest. We give bullshit reasons for why we do things, like impeach Clinton for a sex thing, but then give this Neanderthal maniac a free ride!?

I swear, if they vote Arnold in ... #@*!)&%#*%! aaarrrggghhh. Shit.

4. Does Diebold have those rigged up machines in place??
Hell, guess what,Ahhnold already is the winner!!!! Seriously I can't imagine the masses in California voting for that idiot.

If they do,do they have any fucking idea of what the future holds for California with Repigs in charge??

Arnold is already talking about renegotiate union government workers contracts.Ummmm...my guess is he's not wanting to give them a raise...

9. Bitter medicine
Arnold is getting the ultimate free pass.

He doesn't participate in any of the debates (can't call having the script written beforehand a debate).

His past behavior is immature at best. Behavior that got Clinton crucified. Yes I'm faced with some personal hypocrisay here since our defense of Clinton's sexual relationships was that that was his personal life. I'd agree to that with Arnold if only the Repubs would stick with their prior standards.

Yet he's being annointed governor.

Bottom line for the CA voters. Watch out for what you wish for because you might get it. Like America and Bush.

17. Diebold may have to pay the piper this election.
There is no reason for me to think so, except for having a very superficial knowledge of the issue, but if an election were going to be hacked for the fun of it, this one would be the blue ribbon winner. How about Governor Larry Flynt, “a smut peddler who cares?” In California not every person with the ability and opportunity to change the results will necessarily care who the winner is, they are in it for the sport.

Voting started early, there was a CNN (I think) story showing the touch screen machines and the cards that can change the results already in use in California. So if it’s going to happen they have plenty of time.

7. I live in Minnesota.
Some years ago the people of my wonderful state elected Jesse Ventura our governor. I didn't believe it could happen. When I read it in the morning paper I freaked out. I looked at the election results of other states because I wanted to move right then to somewhere that elected Democrats (I chose Oregon). But I didn't move. I did learn a lesson. Many American sheeple are absolutely irresponsible in their voting. Some of my friends and relatives, I later learned, had voted for Jesse. They later regretted it. However, I learned that many Americans will fall for the celebrity crap... even somewhat reasonable people. The more you criticize celebrities, the higher their ratings become (backlash and rebels). Arnie will win going away... a landslide. This is what I have learned. Now I am researching what it takes to live in a foreign country. I am looking into France, Germany, Denmark, and Canada. They are not yet where the US is. I am a liberal intellectual. I want to live where people have similar values. The US has become one of the most regressive and conservative countries on earth. I do not have faith that this will change.

14. Clinton v. Arnold
Of course it's a double-standard. And it's also not the same kind of behavior -- Clinton's was about his personal sexual life. With Arnold, we're talking about unwanted sexual advances and fondling. Not the same thing. Not condoning Clinton's behavior in any way, but with Arnold it's not about sex, it's about aggression toward women.

8. Have you seen the quotes from ABCNews on Buzzflash?
Arnold: My role model has a first name, it's H-I-T-L-E-R:

ABCNEWS obtained a copy of an unpublished book proposal with quotes from a verbatim transcript of an interview Schwarzenegger gave in 1975 while making the film Pumping Iron.

Asked who his heroes are, he answered, "I admired Hitler, for instance, because he came from being a little man with almost no formal education, up to power. I admire him for being such a good public speaker and for what he did with it."

He is quoted as saying he wished he could have an experience, "like Hitler in the Nuremberg stadium. And have all those people scream at you and just being total agreement whatever you say."

I didn't even add the quotes from the women he groped, if this man were a democrat, he wouldn't stand a chance in hell. I hope this story gains traction, I hope I hope I hope:)

11. Help make an Anti Arnie commercial
This is a real emergency. The polls in California show Schwarzenegger pulling ahead, while the truth about his character is only now starting to get out. We have just a few days to make sure everyone in California knows who this man is. Today we ask you to do two things: (1) contribute to a TV ad that we will run across the state of California on Sunday and Monday and (2) send this message on to friends, so they know the details that are only just now getting into the press.

Please contribute to the ad at:

http://www.moveonpac.org/

We need to raise $500,000, by the end of day today.

I sent my donation this morning. Hope you can help.

12. I feel your pain
I live in Texas. We're on our second post-Ann Richards pretty boy governor. You survive. Life goes on. You fight another day.

Arnold may win. Hell, Bush may win. We can't control outcomes, but we can keep shouting loud enough to keep them honest. That's hwo democracy works. That's how the Republic will endure our periodic love affairs with morons.

13. I won’t allow myself the luxury of denial anymore.
It is just too painful when the reality hits, if that’s the way it’s going to be then don’t look back except to learn. We have a bigger fish to fry.

That said, what worries me the most about Arnold’s victory is that it proves the public still hasn’t awakened, which means 2004 may not be the bell weather year we hoped.

20. Raygun was elected in 1966
That was almost 40 years ago. I don't know if you can remember 1966 well. I can. It was a different, different time. In 1966, this country still made pretty much what it comsumed. The Vietnam War protests was in their infancy. The civil rights legislation and the voting rights legislation were about 365 day old. Roe v. Wade was seven years into the future. The sexual revolution was just dawning. To say that electing Raygun in 1966 is just like electing Schartzengrooper now is lunacy. If you want to use that measure as a comparision, perhaps you might want to vote repuke, as they once elected a president named Lincoln.
