Guardsmen Evacuate Refugees From Superdome By MARY FOSTER, Associated Press Writer
1 hour, 57 minutes ago

NEW ORLEANS - National Guardsmen helped evacuate the mass of storm refugees from the Superdome on Friday, where thousands were stuck in knee-deep trash and blacked-out, putrid bathrooms.

"This was the worst night of my life," one mother said.

At one point, the evacuation was interrupted briefly when school buses rolled up so some 700 guests and employees from the Hyatt Hotel could move to the head of the evacuation line — much to the amazement of those who had been crammed in the stinking Superdome since Sunday.

"How does this work? They (are) clean, they are dry, they get out ahead of us?" exclaimed Howard Blue, 22, who tried to get in their line. The National Guard blocked him as other guardsmen helped the well-dressed guests with their luggage.

.....................................................................
Why am I not fucking surprised that the people from the Hyatt got out first?

3. anybody counting these?
I'm losing track of the news reports where rich people are being taken care of first and the poor last, if at all.

9. By orders of the Mayor
The foreign tourists were moved from the Superdome and later evacuated under orders of Mayor Nagin. I'm sure we will be hearing his explanation of why he did it, just as he said he did not authorize evacuation by the hundreds of school buses at his disposal because those buses did not have bathrooms.

6. Free flags?
Please tell me you are kidding. If that were true it would be the most crass thing I have ever heard of in my life. It can't be true. It just can't.

I guess the woman in the picture in question had a blanket with a flag on it. But I wouldn't put it past the Bush admin. to show up with a fucking truckload. "Okay folks, wave 'em and smile, or you're not gettin' on those buses!"
