Don't let them pull off the big switcheroo!!!
Sorry, I know the RNC points went out today saying to blame the state and local folks, not the Bushies. Maybe I'm missing something but wasn't the whole post-9/11 yammering about Bush keeping us safe based on his overseeing the linking of local/state/fed in times of emergency? Boffo job there, chief. Worked like a charm, didn't it? They are desperate to keep the sheep thinking Bush is the security man. It's about all he has left.

Don't let them distract the people finally waking up to what's been going on. Sadly, many people voted for Bush thinking he could keep them safe. He couldn't keep an entire populace safe with 48 hours notice. Why would you now think he'd do any better in a surprise dirty bomb attack? Who's been driving this bus for five years and making all the decisions about where and how $$$ are being spent? The Repubs. What party oversaw the cut back of federal spending to the point that many states are close to bankrupt trying to make up the difference? Why, that would be the Repubs. Bullshit it's the Mayor of NO fault. Maybe he and Blanco didn't make every decision perfectly but they were playing the hands dealt them by those uncaring, racist bastards in Washington.

When you hear someone start blaming the locals, fire back "What if this was a terrorist attack?" We had notice here. We'd have none then. What the hell have they been doing for five years, aside from bringing up 9/11 every time someone disagreed with them? Sure the hell wasn't getting anything ready for an emergency. Push back. HARD.

1. I think the gig is up.

Bush has lost. There's no spinning this except to the die-hard retards. Everyone else is off the boat.

6. yes
im glad you posted this because that's what i'm seeing too.

I'm not seeing a whole lot of support or spin. I'm hearing one voice, complete anger.

One thing I have noticed is that the media is playing this as if its the beginning of the resolution of this problem rather than a photo-op.

This thing has just fucking started. Every day that goes by, especially after this first wave of "support" is exhausted, is going to get steadily worse and worse. That 12 truck "convoy" photo-op is like the statue of Saddam falling. It is another "Mission Accomplished" moment.

2. Agree. 'What if it had been terrorists who blew up the levee?'
'Still happy with your tin god?'

3. He stepped in it this time
and nothing will remove the stench!

There isn't enough KOOL-AID to cover up his total ineptitude in this matter....

the pics of him strumming the guitar while people drowned

the pics of him tasting frosting off of McCain's birthday cake while people in the SuperDome starved....

THOSE will be the lasting images...he's a lame, lame duck from here on in...he'll be lucky if he isn't impeached....

5. You make a great point
Sad as it is, this horror has given us firepower. So Toby Keith gave us a tune about the towers falling. How about Kanye West, etc., gives us a tune about New Orleans? When they, "But there was 9/11..." we say, "But there was New Orleans..."

7. I don't think many people really think "Bush will keep me safe."
I mean, really. Is anybody that dumb? All the right-wing wackos I know support Bush just because he is republican. And they like watching war on teevee. But I can't think of anyone who really think Bush will keep them safe, despite them saying that on the idiotic box all the time.

But you are correct. They will do everything to avoid responsibility, like they always do. They think propaganda will work for them again and maybe they are right. I expect the corporate media to start kissing ass again in high gear.

9. We lost votes in November
because some people really just felt like Kerry wouldn't keep them as safe. Sad but true. They thought a guy who ducked his responsibilities 30 years before could protect them better than one who volunteered to serve. We somehow let them get away with that. Or Kerry did. Or the MSM did. However it happened before, STOP IT NOW.
