11. Martin says Canada will step up oil production
The Canadian government is ready and willing to help the U.S. in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.

"We're not waiting to be asked for help," Martin said. "We're waiting to be told how our aid can best be directed."

snip

Martin announced Friday that Canada will increase oil exports as requested by the International Energy Agency.

If the other 26 member countries follow suit they will help stabilize the world market in the wake of the storm, which badly damaged the U.S. Gulf Coast oil supply.

15. maybe
another way to look at is that the country is FINALLY waking up from the 5 year nightmare. If it takes a depression to remove these fascist, corporatist, classist scum then we'll tough it out, and be better for it.

13. Hell has officially arrived
If UPS can't do their job, what about every place else?

Area school buses here only have enough gas for 1-2 weeks.
