there's no silver lining here, but there is one very profound thing . . .
happening in response to this catastrophe . . .

at some very primal level we all realize that we are all part of the same human race, and that what happens to one quite literally happens to all of us . . . regardless of our prejudices, in our deepest hearts we all KNOW that these are quite literally OUR brothers, OUR sisters, OUR mothers, fathers, children, babies, aunts, uncles, neices and nephews who are suffering . . . and we're feeling it at a gut level in a way that almost never happens these days . . . even right wing commentators like Cafferty and Scarborough are feeling this deeply, and responding accordingly . . .

when this is all over, our interdependence may be more strongly felt and even publically celebrated than ever before . . . and this will be a good thing . . . that could lead to many other good things . . .

3. You only get that because you're a liberal
A conservative says, "I only worry about me and mine."

4. Well Said, Sir!
But beyond that, this spectacle of criminal incompetence will have a profound political effect. The oldest and most deeply rooted standard of human political conciousness holds that a ruler whose reign is marked by disaster after disaster is not a legitimate ruler. Like the limbic sysrem with its emotional urges deep in the brain, these elder standards have not departed in the modern day, but move behavior in ways people are not always aware of conciously themselves, and are all the more powerful in their continued action for that unconciousness.

6. Even more well said, sir!
Of course the third part of this equation is that we slumber along until something truly catastrophic like this happens in our back yard, and then finally we realize that there but for the sake of (fill in the blank) truly might I go.

5. you said it the world wasn't born with walls- we put them up
and we can pull them down, or scale them-
and we must, if we are to ever survive this season of darkness-
bleeding heart liberals is not a dis- it is a compliment- free, caring and compassionate.-

bush can join or not- but he can't keep us from caring, or create hate- unless we allow that in. and i can't- the hatred unleashed in the impeachment years has born rotten fruit- and it has poisoned our society long enough-

time to gather together or fall apart.
