Did anyone see Pat Robertson?
He was shown on CNN calling out to Jesus to remove three supreme court justices.

3. No, I try to avoid looking at Pat whenever possible
I figure that if I wanted to look at boils, pustules, carbuncles, pus-filled wounds and gangrene, I'd be better off just getting a book on pathology from the nearest medical library - and the pictures wouldn't talk back, either!

12. He didn't exactly say that.
He did note that one was in his 80s, one had cancer, and one had heart disease.
Sounded like he was trying to give god some REALLY BIG HINTS about how to take 'em out.

What is Christian about praying for the deaths of others?

9. Do you think that if someone called out to Allah to remove Bush (on TV)...
...they'd still have their freedom?

11. Pat's brand of Christianity is FALSE!
My wife and I are Christians and Roman Catholics. My wife used to be a nun! We believe as we do because we know the tolerant, all embeacing, forgiving and LOVING Jesus that is in the Bible for all to see. We are appalled by the hate-mongering of those radical right fundamentalist Christians. We just wonder how these people will feel when the inevitable day comes when they have to answer to God for what they asked for in His name!

The night before his crucifixion, Jesus was beaten unmercifully and continually by the Romans (not the "Christ Killers" as the fundamentalists would have us believe). He was mocked, spat on, and humiliated on the way to Golgatha. He was nailed to the cross naked with a bad joke tacked over his head. Moments before his death, he prayed for his tormentor's forgiveness. We, my wife and I and millions of others, believe that his death gained forgiveness for all of us. Mr. robertson's actions fly in the face of what he claims to believe.

By the way, Jesus also never invested 8 million dollars in a dictator's gold mines.

13. welcome to DU my fellow Catholic
Yeah I dont think Jesus would be investing in Charlie Taylor's mines. He profited off of their hard work and just as important suffering.

15. Thanks!
I believe that we really need to get the word out that Christian is NOT another word for right wing republican nut job!

By the way, I've liked Dennis Kucinich since seeing a "20-20" (I think) story on him when he was Mayor of Cleveland in 1978!

16. Hi and welcome!
Not a Christian here, but certainly happy to see Christians who disagree with old mister "wacked in the head".. the WRONG REVEREND ROBERTSON.:puke:

Most Christians that I know agree with you about that hate-filled jerk...there isnt a Christian bone in his body.

Wow, the name you chose for the forum is..the name my husband was going to choose if we had a boy.... Sort of..Marion Jax. Marion after John Wayne, and Jax after a movie I saw with Keanu Reeves. Not that Im a big fan of either, we just liked the names.
