3. In all fairness
I doubt this woman has slept for more than few minutes since last week. She is the only person that I see on TV that has SOME grasp of the gravity of the situation.

10. Right ...
... cut Blanco some slack. She's seen much of her state devastated, and she has had to provide leadership by herself since President Asshole has been AWOL again.

If she has had even a few minutes of restful sleep I'd be surprised.

I think, all things considered, she and the Mayor of New Orleans have done a very good job.

4. She has been out for a week trying to get help and to get people out of NO
She is probably stunned by now, as most NO people.

Where was Bush at that time? Playing guitare?

So please, give her a break.

11. She has been out for a week trying to get people out of NO before and
after the flood.

She was the only one at this level who seemed to understand that something needed to be done urgently. Unfortunately, she can only do so much bu herself.

I hope her organizational skills are better that her communication skills. If not, they're doomed.

8. Are you sure that she is not in shock?
All that has happened, she could be so disturbed it is affecting her actions.
I would hold judgement for a while.
At least she is running around smirking.

12. Great observation.
She's been getting what, 2 hours a sleep a day?
Her state is completely wasted....and no real resources to fight this problem. Her NG is in Iraq and she's obviously not getting any support from Washington.

But lets blame this on her.

13. Her effectiveness at her job, which is NOT doing tv appearances
should be gauged by what she has ACTUALLY been accomplishing, which could be considerable, and not summed up in a couple of sound bites.

She seems exactly like someone deeply concerned, which is appropriate.

14. Locking....
This is flamebait. The Governor of
New Orleans is doing all she can to
deal with this enormous tragedy.
Let's not criticize. Instead
let's put ourselves in her shoes.
She is doing the best that she can.
