IMHO, there is no defense for the VERY slow NeoCon response, and no defense for Haley Barbour's comments.

They don't "officially" count until the coroner counts them. Haley has said on many occasions this week that he believes the toll will eventually be much higher. Much higher.

I'm a loyal Democrat, but I'm willing to cut Haley some slack. He's been out there, he didn't run and hide like * did on 9/11. Some people are calling this Haley's "Giuliani Moment." And they may be right.

Everyone can flame away at me now, but I'm a Mississippian, a Democrat, and I've got a bit more respect for Haley now than I did last week. I'm reserving judgment until we see what he actually accomplishes, but for now, he's OK in my book (on THIS issue, disaster relief; not on anything else). And if you're not a Mississippian, I really don't give a flying f*ck what you think.
