I do not believe I will live to see the United States return to its past
glory. I am 57 years old and feel that it will take decades, if ever, to undo all the damage the idiot boy has done to this country. Everything that was in place on 12/31/2000 now lies in ruin. FEMA, SS, Medicaid and Medicare, environmental protections, our national parks and forests, OSHA, the EEOC, tax structure, and on and on.

Even if Democrats, and that must include moderates and right-leaning ones as well, take back Congress and/or the White house, it will take well beyond my lifetime for them to resolve the wars and terror threats, ease the debt, and reclaim the environment. I can only consider myself fortunate not to have young children nor grandchildren that will have to do with so much less than I did.

2. 52. I agree too. I am so worried for the young ones in my family.
Some of them will never know there were better days in America. So sad.

3. I'm 54, and I can certainly relate to what you're saying.
Even before 2000, I thought America's glory days were over.
The post-WWII boom that lasted approximately 25 years was an anomaly.
In the '70's things started going downhill.

After the idiot boy got in office, his junta drastically accelerated the process. And yes, it will take a long time to undo their destruction--if it happens.

I'm glad I don't have children too.

4. Me, too.
I'm 54 and my husband 62. We've bought property in Panama and are planning retirement there when he's 65 and our youngest will graduate high school the same year.

I told my husband this a.m., "You will be lucky to have 20 good years left. We need to think about being able to enjoy them instead of fighting the greedy, ignorant Americans that supported Bush.

Where the hell have the Dems been? Quiet. They didn't stand up to Bush on Iraq and they sure aren't beating the drums on this disaster and how the Iraq War is bleeding resources out of this country for his oil war.
