The call came through yesterday while my phone was turned off. Her report is that the place is devastated, she sounded very sad and said she "finally broke up" when a police officer came by and shot a seal she had been pouring water on for three hours trying to save it. I wonder if that was her in the clip yesterday w/ Anderson Cooper. She said to tell everyone Hi!! I still can't reach her cell number. I am so glad she kept mine. I had pmed her right before the storm hit the coast, when a poster here asked us to p.m. people we knew in the area with a number exchange....
When you do get through to her please let her know that many of us are just waiting to help all our affected DUers get back on their feet in any way we can. We're here for the long haul.
her comment about shooting the seal? :wtf: I cried my eyes out after seeing that poor seal and was so glad to see the woman pouring water on him, trying to save it.
I am so happy HeeBGBz is OK, but the shooting of these creatures in heartbreaking. :cry:
10. I watched that scene yesterday. I guess that was HeeBGBz.
She said on my phone message that she "poured water for 3 hours" trying to save the animal. Anderson Cooper was monitoring the scene, there were a few clips. Later Anderson Cooper said a police officer came by and shot it "to put it out of its misery". It seemed like even Anderson was distraught over that one, especially since so many people who were clearly in tough situations had focused on the seal's well-being in the face of this horrible disaster for all. I am so glad our DUer was out there and helping those in need. She sounded so sad on the voice message. The seal "broke her up".
