Where are the heroes?
Where there are heroes, there is usally an organized effort be it an army, or the rescuers from 9/11. Heroes have a common "enemy" was which galvanizes and focuses their efforts.

In NO, there is no enemy, there is only neglect and the neglected.
Therefore, you don't hear about people stepping up. There are no flag wavers crying about saving America. Instead, the media seems to be on mute/lockdown. God forbid they begin to delve into this story and investigate how this happened. They know that if they focus too long, the finger of blame will end up being pointed at the real culprits--in DC.

There won't be any heroes in NO, the chaos will continue.

1. How about the thousands of rescue workers and medical personnel?
Let's not forget about them.

2. The people of NO are being killed.
Whether it is merely negligent homicide or something more sinister is not clear. Although, there certainly seems to be an effort to dehumanize a lot of the victims. It makes me wonder.

5. They need to die
they are looters. Black looters at that. They killed a soldier even. Our heroes are in Iraq. Dying. There are no live heroes, yunno.

3. I think there have probably been heroes, and probably
still are.

Early on, I saw the story of a man whose father had gone around in a boat after an earlier hurricane - Camille, I think. So this man took his son in their boat and was rescuing people from their attics with just an axe and his own two hands to get them out.

That's a hero.

But your point is well taken. There is too damned much butt-covering going on, and nobody's taking charge. I mean, what does it tell you when neither the mayor of New Orleans nor the governor of North Carolina can get somebody from the federal government to return a damned phone call?

4. You said it: "nobody's taking charge."
That's exactly what I'm talking about. The media plays a large role in making that happen. They aren't doing a thing. As for **, fuggedaboudit. :eyes:
