Well, remember when I asked what the distraction would be?
From the Wilson story? Well sure enough the pop culture pablum to which I refer is Limbaugh, which was the lead story on most of the news shows I saw this morning. Pushing the Wilson story to 3rd or 4th.

Don't get me wrong, I'd love to see him fall in a big way. But this whole thing just seems to convenient.

And I see it's no different on here. We are all salivating over it and revelling in his decline rather than bitching about how the media is letting this story overtake the Wilson story.

1. Goddamned! You're right!
Perhaps it's too conspiratorial to suggest this, but perhaps Limba went "over-the-top" under orders from Uncle Karl?

Wouldn't surprise me one bit.

4. I don't know, but nonetheless my question was answered...
I said this the day after traitorgate was breaking big. It just seems like another predictable moment in a continually predictable day in the life of the american media and it's minions.

10. The Busheviks frequently betray their own
Look at the pathetic case of Darrell Issa, among others. Salem Bin Laden probably had a hearty handshake and a "sincere" goodbye when he left that meeting with HW Bush in Texas...his last meeting as he was Wellstoned.

Rush "took one for the team" and his status as Cheif Mind Control Officer is secure.

Very possible, this.

13. Sure, why not? He gets to play victim, he'll do a holiday rehab or be
completely exhonerated, set up by his housekeeper.

This is a bogus story... we're being totally played.

Wilsongate is not going away, guys. No Arnold or Rush story is big enough to shelve the CIA scandal. Maybe for a day or two, but not for good.

6. There is more
this is the perfect shit to hit the party of family values

Bear with me... this is no distraction.

Arnie emerges as a mysogninist

Rush is now shown to possibly be a drug adict

(for the record both need help)

And on top of this the perfect political storm
in DC.

Can we say TRIFECTA?

7. We should not let traitorgate or Rush distract us.
While traitorgate is very important to National Secuirty, we still need to pay attention. This New Bridge company, for instance. This administration is full of crooks and war profiteers.

We need to point out all of this stuff for several reasons:
We need to wake up the American people the mess that comes from having all branches controlled by one party. It provides no checks and balances.

We need to show that the GOP as a party, loves power and money more than they love their country.

Traitorgate is a raveling thread, it needs to be pulled and teased so that the veil of secrecy and propoganda gets exposed to the American public.

17. CALL YOUR CONGRESS-CRITTERS TO KEEP TRAITOR-GATE ALIVE!
Once again, the TOLL FREE Capitol Hill Switchboard numbers:

1 (800) 839 - 5276

1 (800) 648 - 3516

You can ask them to switch you to the office of any congressperson or senator you want.

Also: www.congress.org - for the directory to anybody's office numbers either in their home district or in Washington. Plus fax numbers and email addresses.

ALSO: for good measure: CNN: for the Novak complaints

1 (404) 827 -1500

BELIEVE ME! THIS IS URGENT!! And good right now with Rush distracted, trying to defend, and fend off, the bad news that's suddenly swirling around him. This could actually be a good thing. And if we keep hounding our reps for an independent prosecutor, they won't be able to ignore it. Better yet: HOUND THE RETHUG REPS!!! THEY'RE THE ONES BLOCKING IT. And they're the same ones who'd be building a f-ing GALLOWS specially for Bill Clinton if they thought it had happened on his watch. AND they'd FREELY be using the word "Treason" - at EVERY OPPORTUNITY. Certainly ol' Boil-on-the-Ass would.

SEIZE THE TIME!!! SEIZE THE OPPORTUNITY!!! JUST DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!

9. My worry too...
This really worries me that we could be recipients of the big set up.. Think of it... Rush takes a big (temporary) fall, the charges dominate the pages and airwaves for weeks, then all of a sudden the maid folds, or is found to be crazy or corrupt or whatever.... Rush will end up looking like a hero, the "liberal media" the enemies....

And all the evil of the Bushistas will be long forgotten.

ARE WE BEING PLAYED FOR A DUPE?

12. Nah, they're imploding!
I can't imagine that Rush would go for the kind of tarnish this will give him----even if it were later overturned. The racist thing, that's ok cuz it appeals to his base. But to be seen as a big fat hippo-crit (hee hee!)---I doubt he'd sign up for that.

I think the tide has turned against these creeps. Let it be so!

Mark McKinnon, a former Democratic consultant who defected to the Bush campaign, called Rove the "Bobby Fischer of politics. He not only sees the board, he sees about 20 moves ahead."

15. W is like a bad captain on a sinking ship
Instead trying to save his crew, he just throws them overboard one by one has his ship takes on more water.

Don't worry, Rush getting fired after 2 weeks at ESPN is good news. Enjoy it.

The funny part is if you read the transcript of what he was actually talking about, it really wasn't that bad. Actually, he was telling the truth about an issue most sports commentators don't want to touch with a 10 foot pole.

20. BS
Limbaugh said that mcnabb was overrated and was only considered good because the media wants a good black quarterback. There is no evidence whatsoever to back this up. McNabb's stats are as good or better than most HOF quarterbacks at the same point in their career. He has had a rough start this season, but to call him overrated is patently absurd. Limbaugh said this because he honestly believes that the only reason any black person could possibly receive praise is through some liberal media sponsored affirmative-action plan. He's a bigot and has shown himself to be so time and time again. I really hope this stuff means the end of his career and relevance.

18. I wouldn't worry too much - CALL YOUR REPS! And remember:
with Traitorgate, the CIA is driving this. They've been royally screwed by this White House. They're not gonna let the bushies walk from this. Watch as more dribbles out to keep the media interested. Besides, do you really think the White House Press Corps will be asking Scotty about Rush Limbaugh? Rush Limbaugh is small potatoes compared to what they're facing in the White House.

The Rush problem for them will be that Rush won't be singleminded on the offensive for them. He'll be too busy trying to defend his own sorry ass. No, this is good. Their mouthpiece has been muted.

21. Give the CIA time ~ The Wilson Story is in it's infancy
It will be back and the way I see it we are getting two super stories at the same time. Celebrate the news is good Traitor-gate will return. It is well worth a day or two of Rush bashing IMHO.
