People overestimate the power of generators. It would take a big generator to air condition the Superdome for an extended amount of time....

multiple times, it DOES HAVE A/C, but it requires electricity.

The generators are tasked for:

1) Emergency Medical Svcs -- this is the location that dialysis patients, oxygen patients, etc. went to first.

2) Lighting

3) Whatever else

If the city power grid goes down during a football game, they can just
cancel it and would need only enough power to keep the lights on and not worry about the air conditioning...people can just leave. Not like the present situation. Thanks.
