Wow, Tweety actually had some nice things to say about Dean
This is from an e-mail that Dean supporters got from Joe Trippi:
"The only reason to be in politics is to be out there all alone and be proven right. Howard Dean has singled out himself as a broad alternative to the Republican in the White House, on Iraq, on the growing deficits... Howard Dean is out there all alone. What this country needs is a smart, sharp, and illuminating debate. Howard Dean has stepped up."--Chris Matthews.

I always thought Matthews was dismissive of Dean. Did anyone see Matthews make these comments?

2. He said it Sun morning at the end of his show
I was shocked- he has called Dean "the little guy" repeatedly on his weekday show.

3. Think Chris the opportunist sees the handwriting on the wall?
I think he's a person with NO personal convictions...He's goes with who he thinks is "in" at the time...He was all for Bush when he thought it would benefit him to be so and now he sees that the ride may be over with Bush and he's switching sides!....IMO

5. I'll say it again: Do not be fooled..

Tweety didn't say he agreed with Dean, he just said that Dean is framing an "illuminating" debate.

Rest assured, at the end of the day Tweety will be found at the feet of his master the Chimp.

6. Yes
I was mildly surprised, but Tweety has always blown with the wind. Dean is becoming the media's flavor of the month.

7. Just as the media are starting to gush over Dean
I'm starting to have minor doubts.

I still like the man, but I've heard he's for US intervention in Liberia. I'm against interventionism in general, whether for the greedy Bushite reasons, or the humanitarian dem reasons. I want our military to exist for the sole purpose of DEFENDING the US and her allies, not meddling in internal conflicts around the globe.
Our military is already overextended in Iraq & Afghanistan - why is Dean coming out with this stuff now? I was happy to see him at the NAACP convention yesterday, but I don't see that getting into the morass of Liberia is going to win much support among African Americans. I think humanitarian aid to our own inner cities would be a better idea.

I still like Dean, and will continue to support his campaign, but I'm keeping my mind open to Kerry and Edwards.

I wish that any of them had the fantastic spirita and oratory skills I saw in Al Sharpton last night. Wow.

8. Liberia
My understanding is that Dean wants us to offer 2000 troops for Liberia and wants to tie that to UN troop help in Iraq.

He would like thousands and thousands of troops from UN countries to not only increase the force in Iraq, but also to relieve our guys so maybe we can rotate some of them out.

If we can offer 2000 troops for Liberia for a short period of time in exchange for thousands of UN troops in Iraq which will help save our soldiers lives it makes absolutely good sense.

9. Sharpton IS a reverend, after all.
His job is talking to people and getting people worked up and energized. And that's cool and everything, but it hasn't won him any elections.

I'd agree that all the candidates should take a page out of his public speaking book. Gephardt and Lieberman, particularly. Yikes.
