Yes, I know they've had a couple "ethical issues," which I hope they will correct.

But hopefully they will see that people like the ones at BuyBlue.org are paying attention, and that how we see them will make a difference.

Anyway, one of the managers paid for my drinks and dinner when I told him it was my first visit to a Red Robin, and that I'd only heard of them because of BuyBlue.org .

Never mind that half my take-out order was missing. (I didn't mention that because it would be like looking a gift horse in the mouth. "Hey, half that dinner you gave me for free is missing!")

Otherwise, both the service and the food were great both nights I went there.

They have an amazing range of burgers (you've gotta try the Hawaiian burger). They even have a burger served with a fried egg on it, which sounds like something Elvis would eat. They have low-fat food and Atkins diet burgers, grilled salmon burgers, and everything you can imagine.

My to favorites were the Haywain Burger and the Sauteed S'hroom Burger.

When they say "Gourmet" burgers, they mean it!

I enthusiastically suggest you go out and try Red Robbin.

So, below is my letter to Red Robin:

----- ----- ----- ----- -----
Dear Red Robin Gourmet Burgers, Inc,

I am very sorry it took me this long to write and thank you and Mr. Michael S, who manages the Town, ST, Red Robbin. I'm afraid I had lost his contact information, but I'm still terribly embarrassed it took me this long.

In any case, a few months ago I paid my first ever visit to a Red Robin Restaurant. As I sat at the bar waiting for my take-out order, I struck up a conversation with Mr. S.

I told him I'd never been to a Red Robin before, and that I first learned about your chain through the website BuyBlue.org .

I'd never heard of Red Robin before I read about it on BuyBlue.org , and they don't have any near me (I live near Boston). Because of what I read on BuyBlue.org , I went out of my way to try Red Robin.

We had an enthusiastic conversation about Red Robin, burgers, restaurants, and which companies were on what side of the BuyBlue.org list. Mr. S had heard about the website, but didn't know what it was called.

Long story short, Mr. S insisted on picking-up both my bar tab and my take-out order.

I was so impressed with the restaurant, the service, the food and with Mr. S's hospitality that I returned the next day with my wife and daughter to enjoy a terrific dinner in your restaurant.

I have to say you probably make the best burgers I've ever eaten.

Keep making terrific burgers, operate by responsible and ethical standards, keep all your donations "blue," and I'll be your happy customer for life.

Sincerely,

Ian

1. The one by me didn't stay open very long.
I thought it was great. I didn't realize at the time it was a blue company.

5. The one near our work closed recently, too
I agree, they were good. And I didn't realize that it was blue, either.

3. Who knew?
I would have assumed they were red. I will definitely be going there, they do have great burgers. Now, if they would do something about the trans fats in the "bottomless fries"

4. The burger with the fried egg....
I believe Homer Simpson had a dream about one like that and they called it the "Good Morning" burger.

Bravo on this. I go to Red Robin about once a month myself.

6. That's great
Usually we only tell people when they're doing a bad job. Sometimes it's good to tell them when they're doing well.
