Do you buy this Truck story
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/8900835/

The Tinfoil hats say it was brought down by an F-16.
And what's up with a 4 star General being brought down by an adultery charge??

4. I think that it is entirely plausbile
Especially considering that the truck was carrying over 17 tons of explosives.

I would like to know what caused the crash, but that is the only loose end I see here. You have a truck, on a hot day, that crashed. As is often common, an oil or gas line comes loose in the engine compartment, poof, you have a fire. Drivers scramble out of the truck, truck burns from the front to the back, ignites the explosives, and BOOM, instant crater.

Look, I'm as much a :tinfoilhat: person as the next, but I just don't see it in this one. The only remaining question now is what caused the accident. I'm not going to freak on this until I see something that is truly odd. Until then, I'll simply consider this a tragic accident, that luckily didn't kill anybody.

5. I don't buy the adultery charge
Trucks with dangerous cargo explode all the time, so I don't see anything wrong with that. If Bush foiled a plot, he'd be bragging on it.

But a general brought down for adultery? I grew up around military bases and a lot of my friends joined the military. I married into a military family. I don't buy the adultery charge at all. He was fired for something else, and someone thought the adultery thing would just be funny.

11. Maybe. Or maybe
his wife was sleeping with someone powerful enough to bring charges. Maybe he was an ass and his troops set him up. Who knows? All I know is if they kicked you out of the military for adultery then most of the troops I've known, from officers to enlisted, would be out.

The Tinfoil Hats need to step back from this one and take a deep breath.

19. Uh, still no. The driver would not have gotten out if this silly rumor
was true.

And, as a bit of friendly advice, I'd recommend that you not attack other DUers so harshly as you did in your post below.

It's bad form, especially until you get a little more established around here. You wouldn't walk into a bar you'd never been to before and start insulting the regular patrons, would you?

24. There was no "attack"
Edited on Fri Aug-12-05 12:25 PM by Aminal
Do you just feel that way because I state democrats and rep. are the same. I assumed when becoming a member here that the Democratic in DU's
name did not represent the political party, but rather the term. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Democratic

I stand by what i said about them. They are sleaze and you need major reform. But if I am wrong and the D in DU does represent the political party, then count me out!

No offense intended

EDIT:
Anyways i'll go back to just reading posts, because i really don't want to distract you guys.

Just wanted to contribute. And I'll still help with smuggling you guys into the North when the time comes.

12. If a missile hit the Pentagon, sure
A 747 hitting it would be noticed. We have a ton of eyewitnesses to that.

14. There were no witnesses who said they saw a missile
And I've got a flyer in my files somewhere arguing that the Belgian troops were about to take over America following coded messages on the backs of Stop signs. This happened in 1996, you may have missed it.

Sorry, I stick to facts. If I wanted delusion, I'd become a Republican.

No offense meant.

25. I'm quite sure the facts are on the side of the Democrats
Reagan was the most investigated, indicted and convicted administration in our history. We don't even know if Bush will finish his term. Clinton got impeached over a personal matter, and despite an expensive and extensive investigation, was cleared of every other slander against him.

No, I think the facts are on my side on that one.

27. If you've got any evidence
that Prescott Bush was convicted of being a Nazi collaborator, bring it on. Even so, attacking his grandson for his conviction would be irrelevant.

The rest is just silliness. I'm sure you can spout these kinds of "facts" all day long. Come up with one that means something, and I'll respond.

I know alot of people who believe in the Pentagon missile theory but Im not one.

I did however have a coworker who got onto Flight 77 that morning and she was never seen again.

17. The weird thing about this incident is the timing of the blast
The explosive in this story is Pentolite. This is neat stuff if you're into that kind of thing. It's a mixture of TNT and PETN, and this factory makes these massive capsules out of it. They're used in a kind of sonar system for oil explanation: drill a little hole, insert a capsule, set it off with your detector running, and the shock waves help you find oil deposits.

Now understand, PETN is susceptible to massive shocks...you know, like truck accidents. That they were able to have a big truck wreck that threw the capsules all over the road but the blast didn't happen until everyone got out of the truck and the driver warned people to get the hell out of the way is strange, to say the least.

18. Let's consider the story a bit. OK, here goes:
I'm not an F-16 pilot, but I play one on the internets. Target the truck, fire a missile, boom. No time for driver to escape with his life, or warn other motorists *before* the explosion etc. etc.

There's enough evil shit going on that needs to be dealt with without being distracted by every internet user with a good imagination.
