Grahams car
One of my pot growing GOP buddies called me yesterday to tell me he was voting for Graham. It turns out that Graham has sponsored a race car. I just received an email from Graham with photos of the car. It doesn't turn me on, but it sure does turn on some folks.

Q: I know why DU doesn't have a NASCAR. Why doesn't the Democratic Party (DNC)?

3. GOP pot growers are the worst "kind"
They never get busted. When they do, they get off. They make money, and then support the local Sherrif candidate. They buy protection. They are above the law. It makes me mad.

5. Excellent Idea!

If we really want to hurt the repukes we should report our right-wing friends whenever possible to the police.

Remember: a friend who is a convicted felon can never vote for bush.

8. Not true
Most states automatically grant clemency to convected felons once they have served their term. However, felons convicted of federal offenses do not receive clemency. Call in the feds on your Republican friends anytime you get the chance.

6. And it's a good tactic!
http://www.grahamforpresident.com/news/0307/030707-1.html

There is no reason to abandon potential voters. Clinton carried Montana and Georgia in 1992 and Kentucky both times. Sponsoring a handful of NASCAR races gets some of these rural voters' attention and makes them feel like someone understands them, and in this case it's a Democrat! Mark Warner (D) won the Virginia race for Governor not because of Richmond or Norfolk, but because of his message to rural voters who had abandoned the Democratic Party. It's time to get these voters back on our side!

7. Too many Right Wing assholes grow pot
Take it from a lefty who grows it, they charge an arm and two legs for it and don't want it leaglized because they know they'd have to pay taxes on it.

I just grow for my own consumption and to give some to friends, kinda like my beer brewin' operation too! I think they should legalize it and allow you ten plants in flowering stages and twenty plants in vegetative stages tax freee. Any more than that requires a tax, a license, and as many government requirements as a microbrewery.

"Growing up in a racing family, Jon Wood has spent his whole life waiting to win his first NASCAR race. That day finally came on Saturday at Kansas Speedway as Wood claimed his first victory in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series driving the No. 50 Bob Graham for President Ford F-150."

12. I like these quotes from the driver and his dad...
(From Graham's e-mail about the race)

The "Graham for President" Truck carries Jon Wood's number "50" of which Wood said, "I think the number 50 is a great number for Senator Graham - we have NASCAR fans in all 50 states and Bob Graham is running to represent all 50 states as President. I just want to thank Senator Graham and his campaign for appreciating the culture of racing and for helping me personally by sponsoring my truck. "

Wood's father, team owner Eddie Wood, was quoted Saturday after the race, "This worked out well. I hope it was good for Bob. I don't know a lot about politicians and politics and stuff like that, but he's got my vote. He helped them get to this race. I understand he's a working man's man and there are a lot of working people in this garage and the truck garage and everywhere. I think he'll fit in well."

I watched the race re-run on Speed Channel, and Jon talked up Graham in his victory interview. And it WAS a come from behind finish. As Jon said, "I think I passed every truck at least 5 times." I'm rooting for Bob to do the same. ;)
