Poll question: What Is Your Favorite False And Meaningless Claim Made By Bushco?
Whipped this up this morning in honor of the fact that if Bush and his buddies seem to think that if they just apply the right phrase to any political problem, it will be cured.

The spin these guys generate is mighty impressive. All lies. But, it still gets reported and consumed by the sheep as fact.

I have a few favorite phrases from the Bush years. Not favorite because I believe them. Just because the rest of this nation full of asshats DID!

Pick your favorite lie!

4. We're fighting them over there so we don't have to fight them here.

another would be

We'll be there as long as it takes and not a day longer.

I wish I could use that one in my life.

I'm late on my house payment? Well I'll pay you as soon as I have the money and not a day after.

Actually I think my most favorite outrageous one would be:

We're restoring dignity to the office of the presidency.

Edited for spelling error

8. It's hard work
I was kind of partial to his "it's hard work" comment, but we can't forget the infamous "Mission Accomplished" speech. Especially the part about us winning over there.

9. Any locution that invokes "the American people"
As in "The American people want the permanent repeal of the Paris Hilton-er Estate, I mean the Death Tax" or "The American People aren't interested in whether we're running the most corrupt administration ever, or just the most corrupt administration since Nixon."

Whenever one of them is spouting bullshit, the phrase "the American people" just comes out, and all evidence to the contrary, "the American people" unfailingly want whatever hare-brained policy or scheme the administration is currently pushing in the day's talking point.

15. We never had the slightest inkling there was anything wrong with the intel
This is also a dictionary-worthy LIE, if anyone ever asks you for one from his lips.

They knew everything they had was shady, sketchy and highly disputed by the CIA. There were so many qualifiers and doubts built into the language that the White House kept removing and fighting to have kept out.

Intelligence was so questioned that they had to set up propaganda arms in the Pentagon and the White House to craft their deception.

Edited on Mon Aug-08-05 05:22 PM by BabboonBush
There's so many! My favorites are:

The economy is getting strong and stronger...lie
CAFTA is a "jobs creator" for America...lie
Mushroom clouds/WMDs/"Mother of all coalitions"...lie

Basically you can take anything this phony pres says and turn it into its opposite - and THAT is the REAL truth.
