Iran would respond by bombing our localized special interests over in that region.

Countries loyal to Iran would respond as well. And some of them might have weapons that can reach the US directly.

No, I don't see nukes being deployed on Iran.

Of course, I'm probably naive...

1. If Bush nukes Iran
The entire United States would be glass within a few days. It's called M.A.D.

2. he wouldn't nuke them
after all, if he did it would be real difficult to get the oil out of the region...not to mention a nuclear strike wouldn't add much to the bottom lines of the war profiteers that are running the show - a few devices cost far less than a protracted conflict that would use stockpiles of weapons and supplies, all of which would be replaced, at great profits, but the likes of the Carlyle Group, Halliburton, KBR, et al....

lets not forget, his wars are about $$$ so are started and fought with a corporate bottom line in mind at all times...

4. "Tactical" nukes
You're forgetting those. The military has this crazy idea they can use "small" nuclear weapons for localized attacks.

12. Don't forget, the US. delivered 500+ bunker busting bombs to Israel
in 10/04 and Cheney made the comment about 6 months ago that "perhaps the US. wouldn't have to deal with Iran.

15. If Israel would attack Iran
they would get the full force of the Arab world after them. They are not in a good tactical position for any full scale attacks.

8. I think it's because a ground assault would be challenged by the SCO
So to avoid the SCO getting involved they'd just bomb from the air.

The idea here is to prevent the Iranian oil bourse from opening and deny the SCO Iranian oil if my analysis of their motives is correct. They're not as interested in occupying Iran.

9. you're assuming were dealing with sound leadership
and good judgement. We are not.

Nothing this guy does is logical, and I expect that illogical behavior will continue. Including nuking . Hes a dangerous man because hes insane.

11. Bush and his masters are smokin'
high grade crack. There is no way that the Oligarchy would allow these Sociopaths to destoy the economy of Amerika and the holdings of the Multi-Corps. An attack on Iran would have China and Russia converting to the Euro the next day and devastate Amerika. 80% of the nations of the planet would allign themselves against Amerika.

14. Why did Cheney recently ask the Pentagon to create a contingency plan
for nuking Iran? -- do you think he was blowing off hot air or wanting to make good on the "mushroom cloud" scenario, except the US. would be creating this cloud?
