I would like to apologize for the state of Ohio.
We put a lackey for one of the most unpopular Governors in recent history on Capitol Hill just like we, the state that lost the second most manufacturing jobs in the last four years put monkey butt in the White House.

Ohio is officially the most FUCKED UP state in the country and the bleeding just doesn't end.

1. Apology accepted. Now go round up some PO'd voters and
fix your system one town & county at a time.

your state who are to blame.

4. I would too
I can't explain why so many people felt compelled to vote for such a horrible candidate. I'm very sorry. We did all we could.

7. Apology accepted
but I'm emailing your comments to my in-laws the next time they ask us to move to flatland so they know why we'd prefer to live someplace with jobs and a somewhat less fucked-up government.

10. I give a big round of applause to Hackett voters
this was the most repuke district.......and many people thought with their head and their hearts in Ohio (not as many as we needed.......... or that were counted). Many people in the second district broke with their trained ideology and this is a lesson to learn for 06'

16. He was a fantastic candidate
Imagine what would've happened if someone like Lieberman had won the primary--he would've had the shit kicked out of him tonight. For more than one reason I hope he doesn't go back to Iraq. We need him desperately in '06.

Now if we can just find one just like Mr. Hackett to take on Bob Ney :D

15. No need to apologize.
After all, I'm from the state that disgraced the Senate body by inflicting them with Norm Coleman's presence for 6 years. Good gawd, that's enough to consider moving to another state and it makes Ohio look downright good in comparison. It's just so damn embarrassing, especially when you consider ol' Norm is occupying Wellstone's seat. Talk about a 180.

So, what's worse -- sending a witch to the House in a rigged election or sending Coleman to the Senate in a (possibly) legit election? I tell you what Norbert, if you agree to do everything you can to combat the rigged elections in Ohio, I will promise to do everything in my power to make sure Coleman loses next time around. Oh wait. I was going to do that anyway. ;) But hey, please do whatever you can to fight the fixed elections. Remember, you're not doing it just for Ohio. You're doing it for all of us.

21. It's not your fault.
Obviously, all DUers want their state to be blue--dark blue. But you can't be held responsible for the collective stupidity of a group of people who happen to live within the same government-mandated boundaries as you. You can only control yourself.

Just get Taft and DeWine out of there, and Ohio will be well on its way to being gloriously blue once again.

24. Don't know much about OH politics,
Edited on Wed Aug-03-05 12:14 AM by deadparrot
but I'll take your word for it. ;)

The GOP didn't gain anything that they didn't already have tonight. We, on the other hand, took one of the country's heaviest Republican districts, and came within 4 points of winning with a liberal, vocally anti-Bush, anti-war Democrat.

is every bit as dirty as Tom Delay. Another Abramoff whore.

And I agree, we gained big tonight. I'm very proud of Major Hackett.

Here in California we have Ahnuld, and our past transgressions include Ray-Gun and Nixon.

Florida and Texas are pretty screwed up too.

28. I think Florida beats out Ohio for MFU state. Jebbie is our Gov.
We have the worst school system in the country. Chimperor comes to Orlando to give his Nuremburg speeches. But, I know how you feel and most people don't give more than a minutes thought to elections. They go mostly on " Do I have a job and food to eat ? " and What kind of man or woman do I think he or she is ?
