Didn't I read that David Kay's report was "shelved"?
Can anyone help me with this? What is the status of Superman Kay's quixotic hunt for WMDs?

1. He found nothing, Bush hasn't decided on releasing it
So the report may never see the light of day. All we'll get are very carefully selected quotes from BushCo.

2. the news reports referred to it as an "interim" report
... still leaving open the possibility that something will be discovered later.

3. Yes you did, but looking for WMD was more important finding WMD
This genious was to go over there, find stuff, and haul *'s fanny out of the fire. It might have worked, if there had been anything there to find in the first place...

On the other hand Mr. Kay served his role. When the media was pounding away on the subject and some portion of the greater public's attention was focused on the answer, they were able to say "we have put our best man on it" and "work is ongoing and it would be premature to comment on it at this time".

Not looking would have been an admission that they were never there. Any end to the search would be such an admission now. The search will go on in perpetuity or at least, always be inconclusive. No other outcome would be acceptable to the * administration.
