If you want to make something obvious....
How many people have to get 'Wilsoned' before the republican hold outs figure out they have been snookered?

The point I want to make is that as soon as you can give something a label you can fight it. You can't fight anything without a proper frame of common reference and that starts with a label.

This is the most obvious case of politically steamrolling a diplomat and it is astonishing. The fact that a republican president once called him a hero of the first gulf war and now republicans are willing to hang him out to dry is disgusting. It is vile and toxic to our democracy that this behavior is being used to pervert the political process and we can stop it.

We have to give it a label. Have you ever used a reference label you learned here at DU? Have you ever heard another person then use that label with another person?

Is there a list of those who have been smeared by $rub Co.?

Make a list give it a label and send and email research for tonight perhaps…

Giving a pattern of bad behavior a label lets you say here they go again, killing it in its tracks.

Just my 2 cents.

1. Republican Slime Job
Edited on Sat Jul-30-05 01:44 PM by Jackpine Radical
We generally think of creatures that produce slime as repugnant.

And I think you're right about labelling the behavior. It shouldn't be named for just a single person (McCained, Wilsoned, Clelanded) nor for a single strategy (Swiftboated, Willie Hortoned), but shoule contain its own graphically descriptive imagery. I think "slimed" says it.

Edited to add:

Check out this link for instructions on making the costume for the Repug Slime Man. Wouldn't this be a hoot to wear at the next demonstration?

2. swiftboated gets my vote
the less jargony, the better it sticks. And if the label is unique to the republicans (not something that could be applied to either side, like the more generic "slimed") they can't turn around and apply the same label to us if we legitimately call them on corruption.
