How well do you know your representatives?
How progressive or conservative are they? This site tracks legislation, how they voted, their rating from progressive and conservative interest groups among others, and alot more.

Have to admit I was surprised a few times at what I found.

3. You ran for office?
You may not want to give out your name but what office did you run for?

8. Okies ...
You can't predict how many Okies will read your posts.

I am firmly of the belief that my two Senators are the two most idiotic members of the Senate. There's an outside chance they only come in 1st and 3rd (Coburn is Idiot Asshole Sumbitch Shitbag Cum Laude and no one can convince me differently), but still. Assholes. If you could find a dictionary with the word "asshole" in it, it would have a picture of a rectum and then a picture of them for the alternate definition.

And that's just the Senators. I try to forget we have Representatives. Even our lone Democrat is only worth about as much as a bucket of warm horse piss.

Do I sound bitter? Sorry.

11. Sorry to hear that
Cant blame you for being upset. One day you hear a politician make a great speech about something we care about like civil liberties then the next day he or she is selling us out on another issue like bankruptcy reform which takes away other rights. Its hard to find ones out there that are any different.

4. The only problem is I never know
what groups I would agree with. Taxpayers for Common Sense could mean anything! What do Concerned Women for America believe? Some of those farm associations are corporate sell outs that want Conagra and the like to push family famrs out of business so I can't even tell anything from a Farm Bureau rating. This sucks. I'm going to go pout in the corner :dunce:

7. It might help if you look at who they like AND dont like
If they love Santorum and they hate Pelosi that should give you a good idea.Besides you can always look how they voted on specific issues.

6. Thanks. This re-confirmed what I already suspected.
The individual in whose Congressional feifdom I reside is a corporate tool of the reich wing. His name is Elton Gallegly, former real estate broker and mayor of Simi Valley, who might as well morph into a rubber stamp for the chimp's agenda. He certainly does not represent me in any way, shape, or form and the evil bastard has even been known to instruct his staff to throw Dems out of his office. Nevertheless, the clueless idiots in this district re-elect him every time with 65% of the vote.

No need to use vote smart, Ken Boshcoff was one of the few Liberal MP's to vote against the same sex marriage bill along with his new best buddy from the other side of town; disgraced former federal cabinet member Joe Comuzzi. Who apparently felt that stopping same sex couples from inevitably getting equal rights was more important than bringing jobs and federal money to the region.

Fuck 'em both I'm voting NDP.

10. I have no intention of know them
Both freeps one Local is a homophobe and won't talk to the gay community. The fed is "moderate" (votes with Delay 87+% of the time) Although I have no desire to get to meet them,I do watch how they vote, and speak out.One is a crooked RV thug, the other a brain dead follower.

13. Joe Baca (D-CA43)
Votes are middle of the road.

Pro union. Very good on environmental issues.

Voted Yes on Bankrupcy Bill -- He heard from me on that one.
Voted Yes on Patriot Act -- He heard from me on that one, too.
Voted No on CAFTA -- Maybe he's learnin'

14. Well enough to know it's not worth a stamp to write them
The responses I get, weeks or months later, NEVER have anything to do with the issues I write to them about. It's frustrating beyond belief.

Finally told two of the three not to bother coming back home as we wouldn't recognize them.

18. I know both of my senators
and have an angry letter relationship with my congressman. Pat Roberts I have met and my husband has done some things with him when he used to come to town to speak about issues. Jim Ryan, well he does not even send me mail anymore. Now Sam Brownback is someone I know personally and I know his family. Our kids went to school together from K-12. Now if you think that is creepy just think how I feel. It IS creepy.

:scared: <---------this is a shudder as in EWWWWWWWWWW.

19. Patrick Moynihan used to go out for drinks with GOP leaders
After calling them every name in the book in session.Times are alot different now of course and the GOP has taken a sharp turn to the the right so those days are pretty much gone. The right has made sure of it.

21. Yup.
I met Moynihan once. I was handing a rope from the dive boat I was on to a guy as we picked up passengers from a very exclusive resort and I looked up and there he was in a swimming suit! We stayed at the poor island across the channel.

24. My rep is a personal friend.
Tom Udall (D-NM), Stewart Udall's son. Pretty good progressive Dem on most issues. Even though he's a member of the NDC, he voted against both the PATRIOT Act and IWR. His PATRIOT Act stand is especially good.

Nice to know a rep you can bounce ideas off of.I used to meet some through my family when I lived up north but that was a long time ago.But they do let me pass along questions to them from time to time.
