14. She didn't look so cool and composed to me.
She looked very nervous when the WMD subject came up. And that was on FAUX. Not that I expect Russert to dig too deep, but I'll be sure to catch MTP this morning.

that the director of the CIA had asked that the uranium thing be taken out of the speech in October!

She should resign today. This is a travesty.

6. I was SHOCKED...
when she said that. And I am disgusted that Tim Rumpuss allowed her a pass on it, and finally Dickless Gephardt should have mentioned it as well but did not. It was the most outrageous thing I have heard from this ship of fools with a long, winding wake of lies ,half-truths, and other such deceptions. I hope that they will someday face the guillotine ( or firing squad) for their stupid lies!

11. "I didn't remember"
How has she lied out of this in the past? Is this a new lie? If so, I'd like to see it get some legs. It could go in the section of many mags/newspapers where they have little snippets of quotes:

"I didn't remember"
- Condoleeza Rice, referring to her failure prior to the President's SOTU speech to identify the yellowcake reference in it as being false.

what a heady couple of days.

"Bush is toast!" a lot of DU screamed. Sadly, he wasn't even in the damn toaster.

But we got a glimpse of a shattered Condi back there - why was there no followup on all her lies?

oh yeah, that liberal media.

17. Condi Still Trying to Connect Saddam to al queda and 9/11. What a Liar!
It makes me sick to hear this lying bunch of Repukes saying we had to get rid of Saddam to be "safe". Safe from what???

How many times they repeat the mantra - "the world is safer without Saddam" - when in fact it's probably just the opposite!

Ted Kennedy is right and ALL Dems should be supporting him, but guess what - many won't!!

If we lose the next election, it won't be because of B* and his cronies, it will be because of gutless, repuke-lite Democrats!

20. Most shocking comment from Condi
Just finished watching this on Tivo, and her appearance was little more than shocking spin-meistering.

Spin this, Condi:

(from the transcript; thanks, BlueDog!)

DR. RICE: Well, neither happens to be true. First of all, we had a national intelligence estimate on which we relied to talk about Iraq’s pursuit of nuclear weapons. I would never make claims that I know not to be true. Why would I do that to the president of the United States? The president of the United States has to be credible with the American people. I have to be credible with the American people. This was a mistake. The memories of people three months before did not trigger when they saw the language in the State of the Union. When I read the line in the State of the Union, I thought it was perfectly fine. And I can assure you nobody was trying to somehow slip something into the State of the Union that the director of Central Intelligence didn’t have confidence in. The State of the Union address was about the broad threat that Saddam Hussein posed. That remained the case when we went to war. That remains the case today. And it was a strong case for removing him from power.

So, according to Condi, we can no longer hold administration officials responsible for that which happened THREE WHOLE MONTHS ago and which left their collective, selective memories.

My jaw literally dropped when she said that. Three months? Three little months?!!! You and your staff can't remember things that happened three months ago....????? And you admitted to that, and even appeared arrogantly proud of that?

Shame, Condi. Shame.

23. Here's a doozy
And I can assure you nobody was trying to somehow slip something into the State of the Union that the director of Central Intelligence didn’t have confidence in.

Is this a direct dig at Tenet because of the probe he's asking for of the White House? I can see Tenet testifying now. "Technically, the 16 words were correct. This information did come from the Brits. But I had no concrete evidence proving Saddam had an active nuclear weapons program. Perhaps you need to interview Chalabi since it was his source of intelligence information that this administration used to support their case for war."

21. love the spin: Mission Accomplished
MR. RUSSERT: Here’s the cover of Time magazine coming out tomorrow: “Mission Not Accomplished: How Bush Misjudged the Task of Fixing Iraq.” We all remember on May 1, the president landed on the USS Lincoln, where he was greeted by a banner “Mission Accomplished.” The image, the message that sent to the country was, “Iraq, mission accomplished.” Was that premature?
DR. RICE: Well, the mission of those forces that he went to greet had been accomplished. They were involved in the major military operations. I can remember getting briefings on the carriers of the bombing missions that they flew in those horrible sandstorms. So their mission had been accomplished. And the president wanted to congratulate them on that. But he said in that same speech, the dangerous times were still ahead, and that we still had work to do in Iraq. And we are, indeed, still doing that work in Iraq.
