6. I'm so tired of these alleged liberal papers!
The wapo does this, the NYT has an editorial praising the 15 Dem defectors on CAFTA.

7. Although it's clearly a slam on the "news" media maybe...
Wapo felt it was crass, unfeeling and/or disrespectful to the family. After all, the girl is most likely dead but her body has not been recovered. And although the whole thing plays like a soap opera, it's very real for those who know and love her.

8. Maybe so as not to offend her family?
That would make sense.

9. Well this particular strip was unfunny and crass
Edited on Fri Jul-29-05 07:55 AM by Mike Daniels
Boondocks was consistently funny when it first came out but with its elimination of a lot of the non-family supporting characters and the almost exclusive focus on Huey it's become increasingly more hit and miss.

10. Hasn't this happened to the Boondocks before?
I seem to remember papers getting all twisted out of shape over it when it first came out too. Pulling this one doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me.

On a side note, it's being made into a show for Cartoon Network's Adult Swim. I think it starts in October.

13. i can see why they pulled it.....
what if you were part of her family?

considering you don't know whether she's dead or alive - they haven't found ehr body, no one knows what happened to her....

and some dude's made a comic strip about you.

i understand he's poking fun a the press - but i would have been more comfortable if he maybe used Hurrican Season or soemthing else.

missing teenagers - not so funny.

18. "what if you were part of her family?" ....... Simple
I wouldn't be on Fox every night throwing around baseless inflammatory remarks directed at folks who is trying to find out what happened to her daughter....... Nor making idiotic request of countries based on my own sense of entitlements.

Just for starters

20. oh i wholeheartedly agree......
her family's played right into the media circus....

however when it's all sid and done, they are still a family who's child has disappeared in a foreign country and no one seems to know what happenned.

19. Her family is responsible for the media circus.
They are guilty as hell for the whole situation.

What about her mother pleading for the FBI to do something because the Aruban government was obviously not working fast enough and covering up evidence? Both claims were horrifically off-base.

No, her family deserves to reap the whirlwind of the circus that they helped to foster. They have engaged in behavior which borders on criminal in their mindings into the investigation and the authorities of Aruba. I, for one, find them to be a despicable lot who are possibly of questionable quality as parents.

This is not to say I condone the apparent murder of their daughter, and justice should be brought forth. There will be justice done for the killer/killers and those who attempted to cover up the crime. You do not go to a foreign country and try to run an investigation, it is not done. I'm surprised the government let them get this far, with corpse sniffing dogs and the lot.
