1. Like the Roman Coliseum - this anti-gay stuff is a blood sport
for sphincter crowd. Don't the Christians know that the last time one group after another was scapegoated - to give meaning to the most priviledged people of the world - they were fed to lions?

2. you know what's interesting - and hopeful?
The kid who thinks he's winning his fight against gayness lives in some very red area and before he was captured and imprisoned he'd come out and was accepted by his peers. Zach, the kid that brought all this to public attention had also come out to his peers before his parents. He's getting out this week, maybe. Hope he's OK. But the thing is, he also lives in fundie land and he also was accepted by his peer group. I guess it's because I'm almost two generations older than these kids, but that seems great to me. Back in the sixties, coming out to anyone at all was a very big deal and a big problem for gays of any age. Kids didn't ever come out in a public way.

3. The new Dukes of Hazzard movie won't help either, will it?

Sorry, dude. You have my sympathy.

Get out while you can, before we close the border.

Let's save Traditional Marriage! Yee-hah!

4. I am personally embarassed for having this in my town
just to be clear, it is in a suburb of Memphis where the bible-thumping rednecks live. Why can't we talk about "Hustle & FLow" or "Walk the Line" that was shot and set in Memphis.

5. The piece was concluded with a statement by Miles O'Brien
"In the end, parents should just love and accept their children for who they are."

Wow. I didn't expect that.

6. I'm sure the right will hold that as an example of typical
librul media bias. Repeat as needed.
