Cross Post: What can I say to Our Hero????????
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=203x384798

John Kerry said “Hope is on the way” and also told us he had 17,000 lawyers ready and set to take action. We risked, hoped and dreamed of a brighter tomorrow. Then, when our hopes were at the highest, he abandoned us, stating that he has our backs. We hoped that he would come forward before it was too late, we speculated why he didn’t, and then we faced reality. We had been overtaken, here in the country we once loved, the land of the free and the brave.

We talked of moving to Canada, avoiding the regime, avoiding the reality that it is no longer a country for the people by the people. Instead we investigate, we litigate, we risk, and we try to convince others to work for election reform. And, we wonder, “Why others do not join our plight?”

We were fortunate enough to have David Cobb step up to the plate to attempt a recount that wasn’t. We were fortunate enough to have wonderful people like John Bonifaz, Cliff Arnebeck, Bob Fitrakis, Brad Friedman, Kip Humphrey, John Conyers, Barbara Boxer and numerous others who have spent countless hours trying to investigate and fix the system.

We have found heroes such as Andy Stephenson and Sherole Eaton who risked it all to come forward with evidence of election fraud. And for what outcome? John Kerry still has a political future (provided real election reform occurs). Staying out of the fray, he avoided being “Gored”. Had Sherole not come forward, she would still be employed with no worries of how to pay for her insurance or how to pay for an attorney, much less worry about how to have the money to buy food. She could have taken the deal she was offered, resigned, drew retirement and kept quiet. But instead, she chose to fight for what is right. But why?

Is it really appreciated? By some of us, yes. Judging by the money in her fund, evidently to stand for democracy doesn’t matter to most. The DNC should have taken care of Sherole. They should have stood for her and for all of us. They didn’t. They aren’t. They won’t. John Kerry should have taken care of Sherole, he didn’t, he isn’t and he won’t. The reality is the little guy (in this case a 65 year old widow) always loses in the end. And yet, we have hope that more people will come forward with evidence to prove the election fraud.

Perhaps there are others that would, but they watch the plight of heroes like Sherole, and realize that no one will support them if they stand up. Someone told me this would happen after she came forward because in the end, the “little people” always lose. So, what can I tell this champion of democracy?

Don’t worry, it will be alright? There are enough people upset about what has happened to you to help you? Someone in the party will come to your aid? John Kerry will come ‘out of the closet’ and ask people to contribute? We care, but we gave all our extra dollars to the GELAC fund? The DLC will decide to mend fences with the little people of the Democrat party and support her? That hope is on it’s way?

Please let’s not let this Democracy Heroine fade into the shadows. Let’s all step up to the plate and donate to her fund. The world needs more Sherole Eaton’s. Let’s show her with our pocketbooks just how proud of her we are.

Due to DU rules, I cannot add the information regarding the fund in this thread, please see http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.ph... to learn how to contribute.

1. You have to know that the DNC and Kerry
have to keep their distance so as not to appear as if they are paying her to come forward. The only way that she can be supported is by individuals without a connection to the Democratic party. It's too bad, but that's how it works.

2. Okay, I understand but they don't have to keep that much
distance. They could come out in support of her. They could give her an award. They could privately donate to the fund.

3. Honestly, they really have to keep their distance
You know how the repubs are. If there is ANY whiff of some kind of support, they will dig their teeth into it without ever letting go. Especially now, with all the problems in Ohio and the administration going on. They would clamp onto anything to try to get the press off of them.

I don't know the whole story, but you can email me. Maybe, I can offer you some sort of way to help.

5. That's just silly.
"If there is ANY whiff of some kind of support, they will dig their teeth into it without ever letting go."

I'm sorry, but (and not attacking you personally here :) with all due respect but I've heard this silly argument time and time again. The Repukes will attack us WHATEVER WE DO. Doesn't matter. The entire Democratic Party could singlehandedly stop a terrorist attack, save a little baby from a burning building, and cure world hunger and the Repukes would STILL be there calling us attention whores.

The goddamned Repukes will stalk us no matter what we friggin do, so we may as well be principled and do what is right. Given the past behavior of Dems like Kerry, I'm not holding my breath though. They keep buying into this complete horseshit that we can somehow meet the GOP halfway or come to an understanding with them. Bullshit. I'm sick of it. We've been making all our decisions based on "OMG! What will the GOP say! We can't stay and fight this election fraud because we'll be seen as sore losers OMFG!!!" How's it been workin' for us? We've lost the House, we lost the Senate, we lost the presidency (twice), and now we're gearing up to confirm a flaming neo-con to the Supreme Court for the next 30+ years with a smile and a nod of approval.

I'm so bloody sick of it I could scream. The Dems need to stop being such pussies and do what they know is right, and fuck what the Repukes will say about it.

6. Really? How about when they go to court
You can bet that one of the questions will be: Have you received any money from the Democratic party or John Kerry? With a yes answer, that will diminish any impact her testimony may have.

It's not about what the repubs say in the press, but what they can do with it in court.

7. Checking into this but I would think that it wouldn't matter who donates
after the firing. I can see where if a person was paid during the actual blowing of the whistle that it could be a factor. I also do not see why the DLC and Kerry could not offer a few words in salute of this fine lady. I do not see where that could hurt a case at all.

4. Sherole Eaton Background

Look for anything regarding Hocking County, Ohio. Sherole was the one who stood up during the recount and became a Federal Whistleblower because the Triad technician came to the BOE office a few days before the recount, dismantled the tabulating computer that had the Nov 2nd results, asked which precinct was to be recounted, went back to the computer and then came back out and instructed the BOE workers to have the Board cheat on the recount in order to avoid having a hand count of the whole county.

Sherole stood up and filed an affidavit with the Conyers panel, was forced (after the recount was halted by the BOE prior to completion) to take comp time off, returned to work after a carotid artery surgery during her comp time, and was fired just 11 days prior to brain surgery. The BOE will give no reason for her firing. All BOE members voted to fire. The Democrat BOE members were asked by the Hocking Democrat Party to resign, and refused to do so. The Democrat BOE Chairman has stated he promised someone he will stay on until the Diebold computers are in place in the county.

Diebold was also approved unanimously to count the votes in Hocking County at the same meeting.

At the next meeting, the Republican Director admitted to planning a Republican fundraiser inside the BOE office. This same Director also has had charges filed against her for shredding registration documents prior to the November election.

Actions are being taken by Cliff Arnebeck and by Sherole's whistleblower attorney, Kate Schulte sp?

Sherole is a 65 year old widow with a brain aneurysm which requires further surgery.

8. Reality: If Kerry went NEAR Eaton she'd become a paid Kerry operative
who was acting only out of partisan dirty tricks.

You either GET IT or you don't.

Some things CAN'T just happen for all concerned...especially for the ultimate cause and goal.
