WHAT IS THE COALITION, EMPTY REPETITION OR TRUTH?
We hear repeated continuously of the coalition this and the coalition that. The word has been repeated often enough in government speeches and releases it has become a part of normal lexicon for those who publicly report and discuss events. It is issued as though there is full awareness and understanding of the meaning. That meaning is never explored as though the code word "coalition" in itself is sufficient to make everything clear.

And yet after diligent search, I am unable to flesh out its meaning with substance. There is no surprise that the word has been chosen with intent of turning a lie into apparent truth for the gullible. But in attempt to break out of double speak, I would like to assign that obvious lie just a bit of truth. We might then better know just what we are and are not talking about and hearing. I would like to know exactly what is this claimed coalition and would appreciate here any specific sources of information that might answer the following questions. That is done with understanding that lack of specific response might be as telling as definitive information.

1. What are the names of the nations which make up the coalition?

2. What are the specific contributions and roles of each?

3. How many military troops does each have on the scene in Iraq and Afghanistan?

4. How by the numbers are those troop deployments divided among support and combat roles?

1. i can name a few
England: they provide some military support, and i think they've got like 10,000 men in iraq

Poland: they also provide a little military support, not sure on numbers, but they do maintain control over various portions of Iraq

the other "members" of the coalition are members just because they didn't call Bush a dickhead, like Uzbeckhistan, and Spain.

There are quite a few more countries in Afghanistan I believe, Canada is, and I know this because we killed some of their troops and then let the assholes who did it go free. I think Pakistan is fighting in Afghanistan, though it remains to be seen on who's side they actually are...

4. A BIT OF THE TRUTH SNEAKS IN
I asked the same questions elsewhere and was lead to this web site http://www.areporter.com/sys-tmpl/thecoalitionofthewilling/. It names 44 nations in the coalition. Read it and weap or laugh.

Afghanistan, Albania, Australia, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Colombia, Costa Rica, Czech Republic, Denmark, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Eritrea, Estonia, Ethiopia, Georgia, Honduras, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Japan, South Korea, Latvia, Lithuania, Macedonia, Marshall Islands, Micronesia, Mongolia, Netherlands, Nicaragua, Palau, Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Rwanda, Slovakia, Solomon Islands, Spain, Tonga, Uganda,Turkey, Ukraine, United Kingdom, United States, and Uzbekistan.

The following is given regarding military troop deployment. Rolling on the floor is permitted.

US 300,000,
UK 45,000,
Australia 2,000,
Urakaine 500,
Netherlands 360,
Romania 278,
Poland 200,
Bulgaria 150,
Albania 70,
Bulgaria 1 sub 1 warship,
Spain 1 medical ship,
Czech Republic 1 NBC team,
32 other nations, none.

For comparison consider.

There are 191 independent nations in the world and 62 colonies. The colonies are owned as follows:

United States 24,
England 14,
France 7,
Australia 6,
New Zealand 3,
Norway 3,
Denmark 2,
Netherlands 2,
China 1

Note that the first three nations supplying the most troops also own 44 of the 62 colonies. And with the exception of France, New Zealand, and China, all of those owning colonies are in the coalition.

Dare we think and say imperialism?

Overall conclusion: Bull shit!

5. That's quite interesting
about Bulgaria's 1 submarine & 1 warship. Aren't they landlocked? Hm, I wonder how many would get into That submarine.

But, maybe it's going to be used as a booby-trap for the enemy side.
