2. Doesn't matter
the point is that the Rove story has been replaced with the SC nom.

13. If nothing new happened in the Rove story...
it would've been replaced by ANY story.

Do you really expect the NEWS to carry non-news? When something new happens in the Rove story, it will get covered. But I don't see how you can expect constant coverage of a story with no new details.

Furthermore, it doesn't matter one whit whether the press covers this now. The prosecutor is doing his job regardless of what the day's headlines are.

4. As long as it's still on Patrick Fitzgerald's front page...
...that's what really matters. Besides the damage to Bush's credibility won't go away so quickly. People are getting fed up by the cumulative effect of the gross missteps of this misadministration.

6. Yeah, I noticed that earlier today
At that time, the top stories were Judge Roberts' nomination, Shrub's speech this morning, and the grenade suspect.

But don't fret . . . it will be back.

7. There probably really isn't more news on Rove right now, but I
don't think this story is going to go away one bit. The indictments are going to be the most exciting thing ever. Watch the pundits when that happens - like chickens with their heads cut off. Mehlman will be stuttering and spitting all over the TV. Can't wait.

8. It's OK. Really, it is. The Damage has been done...for now
The week or so exposure in the media, after languishing for over a year, has done more damage the this administration than the numbing stream of casualties from Iraq of the past month. It has reminded people who have forgotten, and raised the consciousness of those who were unconscious ;)

This will do, until the next leak in the case, or until Fitzgerald issues his indictments. If we're lucky, we may have a few allies in the WH press corps who will keep this alive as well...
