Are there any connections between Rove and Roberts?
Edited on Wed Jul-20-05 02:44 PM by Goldmund
Or Scooter and Roberts? Cheney?

Are there any clear-cut, personal ties?

I wonder if one of reasons behind the Roberts pick is to affect the outcome of a future SC appeal of a Traitorgate conviction?

1. maybe
but if there are ties, it would make good propaganda for us.........why would anyone in the country want someone connected in any way with Rove to be on the SC?

2. If he was working the florida recount in 2000,
then there's probably a connection with POS ex SOS Harris. And she, obviously, has connections with Rove & company.

4. Roberts "helped" the Bush legal team with Bush v. Gore
http://www.newsday.com/news/nationworld/nation/ny-usprof0720,0,7544985.story?coll=ny-uspolitics-headlines

Who is John G. Roberts Jr.?

BY TOM BRUNE and JOHN RILEY

(snip)

Roberts is a member of the conservative legal group, the Federal (sic)Society, and helped the Republican legal team that won Bush v. Gore, which made George W. Bush president in 2000.

I haven't been able to find anything more specific than that, and I think that the Dems should find out what that means exactly... Bush v. Gore was a bad argument and a terrible decision, based on an interpretation of equal protection which was so shaky the Supremes wrote into it that it couldn't be used as a precedent for any other cases.

And you know if Gore had actually won Bush v. Gore, and was nominating his first Supreme Court nominee, and that nominee had "helped" Gore's legal team at any point in the 2000 campaign, the Republicans would be screaming "quid pro quo".
