Memo to Conservatives: Simply being nominated by Bush
does not, in any way, indicate that a nominee is qualified.

I am getting so tired of hearing that crap.

1. If Dear Leader annoints him, who are we to question?
:sarcasm:

Why do you not support our beloved president?

OK, :grouphug: tonight. We are going to need it with everything coming up.

11. Then don't leave me
when I go pick up my check!

We have a lot to talk about.

BTW, I may not be worth shooting considering the difficulty of this concert and the oppresive heat. I might need you to poke me so I don't fall asleep!

See you tonight, once the sweat dries I am going to give you a big hug. It sounds like you need it. I know I sure do. :hi:

3. Roberts is definitely qualified
There is no way you can argue against him on the basis of his qualifications for the job.

All you can argue against is ideology.

5. I was under the impression that he has a very breif record as a judge
I could be wrong.

This is more of a general statement on the whole judicial nominations nonsense than it is about Roberts.

Conservative pundits assert that its Congress's responsiblity to give all the nominees an up or down vote.

By the same token, its Bush's responsiblity to nominate people who actually will work to make America better, not just a bunch of partisan hacks.

6. His qualifications come from his work as an attorney
Look at the number of cases he argued before the SCOTUS.

There is no denying it, the man is qualified.

7. I should have been more specific in the thread
I've been hearing and seeing this crap all day.

"The Democrats keep saying no to all of Bush's nominees, even though they are qualified. They need to be voted on."

Its just a bullshit assertion.

Bush needs to find nominees who aren't so divisive.

8. The divisive nature of the nominees works in his political favor
Edited on Wed Jul-20-05 01:11 PM by Walt Starr
so there is no way he'll stop putting up divisive nominees.

Had he put up a complete openly moonbat nominee, this would be an easy one. He didn't, so we have to be more strategic on it.

10. It doesn't have to be
Edited on Wed Jul-20-05 01:15 PM by Walt Starr
We have to target specific Senators to vote no. Those who are vulnerable must be given a pass on this one, but we can give NO REPUBLICAN senators who are held out as moderates a pass on this guy.

12. I've gotta abandon the thread, Walt. Its just a two-way conversation
and is wasting space for other threads.

PM me if you want.
