Harry Reid Rules!
In an article about Roberts, Reid addresses the press and smacks them with this:

"It's interesting how the subject has changed from the White House administrative staff to the court today, isn't it?" Reid said. Wagging his finger at reporters, he said, "It's interesting there's been no questions here about a CIA operative being outed."

2. Way to at least TRY to keep them on target!
I'm becoming a huge Harry Reid fan. I may not like all of his personal politics, but great goddamn is he a fine minority leader.

4. I knew Reid would be head and shoulders above Daschle when he
got the nod...he's quite agressive and speaks in short sentences the brain dead masses can understand.

6. I was a bit nervous at first, but then I figured we had nowhere to go but
up.

Harry is doing very well.

8. And proof positive that a "moderate"
does NOT have to mean staying away from controversy or being afraid to take stances that will offend the hypothetical "swing voters." The guy is a Mormon...about as conservative a religion as you can find...and I find more to admire about him than I do about Hillary Clinton, with her current disgusting grandstanding about video games.

9. I am not on the same ground as Howard and Harry when it comes to a lot
of issues, but as you say they can put up a fight regardless of their stances on the issues.

5. Is the media really so gullible and weak-kneed?
Is it any wonder so many millions question the media's integrity?

Geez! :eyes:

10. Even The Way He's Handled Roberts Is Terrific
Rather than play into the wingnut image of being a ranter and a raver, he got all the Democrats to take a wait-and-see attitude, praising Roberts' paper qualifications but not showering praise on him prior to the hearings (and letting NARAL, MoveOn, Dean, etc., play the bad cops).

By doing that, he's made it tougher for Repunks to argue that Dems are obstructing for the sake of obstructing -- so if we "find" something during the hearings, it'll actually be easier to oppose Roberts THEN and say it's because of what happens in the hearings. Moderate, fair, but tough. (It doesn't mean that's how the Dems will play it out, but it's set up that way, and when was the last time it was?)

PLUS, what happens if in a month from now Rove and company are in even deeper hot water over Plame? How easily will the vaunted Repunk machine be working by then? By holding attacks, Reid and company allow the White House to get weaker under the weight of its own rot, allowing for a late-round surge if necessary.

Gotta be a boxer to beat boxers, I guess.

(yes, I'm using the Rush slam... it's about the only thing Rush and I agree on)
