T or F : If the White House stonewalls long enough, it will all blow over
The Rove ratting on CIA agent, the lies that are killing our troops at this minute, the lies to Congress, the disrepute around the world. If they just change the subject and attack the messenger, it will all blow over. In a few days, it will all be forgotten? D you believe that?

1. Nope.
There is too much out there now and it looks like the public is considering it important news. Even if it does slip off the screen for a while Fitz is still going to work on it.

This is a chink in their armor we've managed to successfully prosecute. Their stonewalling will only lead to escalating outrage, especially after Abu Ghraib II (which is supposed to be insanely bad).

12. The press might just be pissed and Fitzgerald is a bulldog
not like our favorite bulldog Gannon. Fitzgerald sounds like the right person for this high profile maybe even dangerous job. The WH has now blamed the lazy press for leaking the info-that would piss me off and lets hope the press finds and keeps a spine over this incredulous attack and keeps asking questions which means doing their job for once.

3. Tell me again, what does DSM stand for?
When was the last time you heard about it in the press?

In a couple of days Bush will nae names for SCOTUS and the page will have turned. The investigation will end and the reporter will be released.

7. Disagree
I don't think they are going to 'spin' their way out of this one. *'s 'Brain' has been caught red-handed. * is nada without him and the lies are going to lead back to the highest of officials. * is just as vindictive as Rove.

Nope, no win on the spin this time.

8. that's my take on it...
...bu$hit will name a total whacko zealot for the usurping court and that's where all the attention will be. Plamegate will be another criminal act on the pile that bu$hco got away with because the fox (literally) is guarding the henhouse.

Puh.

They don't just spin away into the memory hole. And DSM is intricately bound up into this.

5. Its not a matter of pubic perception anyway, justice is in motion
its not the same ballgame it was until just recently

its not about how many are waving-flag zombies and how many remain conscious, ultimately

this whole episode now has a micheal jackson trial feel to it, and it won't be over until that comes to climax.

spin will not be the determining factor this time

9. Iran/Contra did
A quick recap: Reagan and Bush sold weapons to a nation that had declared war on us, and diverted those funds to terrorists in central America who were murdering Americans, including priests and nuns, and who were smuggling drugs into the US.

When the story broke, one key figure tried to kill himself, and at the same time another key figure had a stroke, from which he never recovered. Reagan gave three contradictory statements on what he knew, and never reconciled them. An Independent Councel was launched, hearings were held, Ollie North was found guilty, and it looked like Reagan was cooked.

Then, nothing happened. The investigation dragged through the rest of Reagan's term, and over the four years of Bush Daddy, and just when it looked like something might be done, Bush pardoned the two people who could have been forced to testify against him and Reagan, and the investigation folded.

Reagan and Bush were every bit as caught as Rove was. Yet they remained free, and can be worshipped as heroes.

10. Blow over? No. Will it have any real effect? No.
It will linger on for awhile until the next celebrity sex scandal. Then there will be occasional stories about this or that investigation and what some witness said on page 36.

At some point in the next few years there will be an item in the news about somebody being convicted of something in the long forgotten PlameGate case.

It's "politics as usual" to most of America with about as much interest generated as the dangers of nasal hair.

Peace.

18. You Can't Stop An Avalanche
With a snow shovel.
Or even a shovel designed to evenly spread Bovine fecal matter.

For Once, (and I still can't believe the time came)
The spin may actually help facilitate the spread of damage to include the spinners. The apologists are going to take the heat just like they did with the "Vegetable girl".
