Does this mean we're all going to get arrested???
so.....if we're members of ACLU or Greenpeace (and I'm a member of both) should we be expecting to be hauled off? well, i'm here--at my computer, eating a bagel.

"FBI Says It Monitored ACLU, Greenpeace
From Times Wire Reports

July 18, 2005
The FBI has thousands of pages of records in its files relating to the monitoring of civil rights, environmental and similar advocacy groups, the Justice Department said.

The organizations, including the American Civil Liberties Union and Greenpeace, are suing for the release of the documents.

The organizations contend that the material will show that they have been subjected to scrutiny by FBI task forces set up to combat terrorism.

The FBI has identified 1,173 pages related to the ACLU and 2,383 pages on Greenpeace, but needs at least until February to process the ACLU files and until June to review the Greenpeace documents, the government said in a filing in U.S. District Court."

26. The thing is I can't tell who is using what service be it
private or public but the site I use does give a venn diagram on the %, also
other data for this site or others if I chose

now granted during the day, some work for the govt and are OK be it
troops etc. but you bet this site and others are monitored,

I watched the Daily show and it was the bomb in their discussion of the
problems in Washington, I laughed my ass off when Jon Stewart attacked
the white house arguments on the Rove leaks. Meanwhile this weekend I plan to go to the beach with my nuclear family, which includes my x wife and kids.
But I think I might have problems with my x wife, which is not my plan for the day

also Amnesty International. Looks like we are in the same boat, so to speak!

It has become apparent that the Federal and State governments along with the FBI and state and local police departments have turned the US of A into a fascist country. We can thank the neo-cons and other right wingers for this.

Controlling people and their thoughts. If you have groups out like the ACLU and Amnesty International getting the truth out there to people it won't be good for their agenda. Check out the White Rose Society. I'm sure you probably already know about them though. This group is my inspiration.

25. The ACLU? Terrorists?
That's pretty fucking weird. I've never heard of them committing terrorist acts. Greenpeace I wouldn't call terrorists the way I would ELF and ALF and their ilk, though I do disagree with them trying to hurt common workers with their tree spiking parties and shit. Greenpeace is mostly harmless and I see the ACLU as benevolent. They should be infiltrating the extreme religious sects of every denomination, that's where you are most likely to find terrorists.

31. here's a little fun quiz on the ACLU website:
"Find out if you could be in the FBI's files!

The ACLU has evidence that the FBI and local police, working together through so-called Joint Terrorism Task Forces, are gathering information and collecting files on environmental, anti-war, political, and faith-based groups and centers of worship.

Could you be a target, too? Answer these 6 quick questions to find out!"
http://www.aclu.org/Quizzes/QuizIntro.cfm?quizID=12

and watch out for FED-ex
"Maybe you haven't sent a parcel lately, but you should know that FedEx maintains its own deputized police force and is part of a Joint Terrorism Task Force. We don't yet know what kind of information FedEx is sharing with the FBI and other law enforcement officials, but given what we know about JTTF activity, we thought you'd want to know about the relationship."

39. If you allow yourself to be dictated by those who will take away your
rights, you bet everything that you hold dear will be taken away from you Orleans.

Are you willing to give up everything that has been fought for and EARNED by those who had the courage to fight? Then yes, give it up, sit back and relax while everything is stolen from you.

If not, then quit accepting defeat, and learn how to fight for what is rightfully yours.

Its up to you and me and every other American. It's up to all of us.

In the end, we will see what this country called America is truly made of.

40. it's okay shance, i'm not accepting defeat
i continue to fight for our freedoms

i think it's absurd that files are being collected on the ACLU--kinda like searching the grannies at the airports--

i just watched the rerun of the daily show and woodward & bernstein were on. bernstein made a very interesting comment--something to the effect that this white house is more busy trying to destroy the other party (democrats) than they are trying to catch terrorists.

of course, that's how so many of us feel--but it was refreshing to hear someone say it.
