So, Bush will fire anyone convicted of outing Plame...
...but anyone with a felony conviction would be automatically stripped of their security clearance and (for this one) incarcerated. What Dubya just said is that he'll do the bare minimum the law demands.

Come to think of it, that's a step up for him.

1. Well Mr Bush
It is your administration. You should be fired as well.
It is you watch and you fail.

2. Good point. And, what choice would he have but to fire someone
who was serving out a sentence in a federal prison. Damn. It's those high moral standards at work, isn't it? :eyes:

3. Actually, aren't there convicted folons working in the Pentagon NOW?
I don't have all the names, but I read on Du the other day that many of the people convicted in Iran Contra are now working in the Pentagon. Isn't that part of Shrubs admin too?

4. Chimp and Cheney are both convicted felons.
Both have DUI's.

First time in the great history of America.

6. I understand that, but they are still criminals, right?
Didn't Shrub say that anyone who did a criminal act wouldn't be in his admin?

9. Hmmm. Do I REMEMBER THOS WORDS!
Wonder if we'll hear them again in Congressional hearings?

Probably not until Dems take the House. I know it's along shot, but I'm hoping for 2006!

8. He didn't say he would fire them!
He said " they would be taken care of". Like in a promotion, or a medel of freedom, or stock options in Halliburton.

You folks need to understand the framing!

10. NO! Today he said "They would NOT work in my Administration!"
I know he did say the quote you stated, some time ago. After that, the Press asked Shrub if he would fire anyone in his WH who was associated with this leak and he said "YES!"

But today, he eliminated the word assiciated and said "guilty of a crime." It;s up for debate if that meant proven guilty or indited, but that's his satatement from today.

11. Close, But What He Really Meant Was...
They would be "taken care of", you know, pardoned and rewarded.
Like all true patriots should be.:sarcasm:

12. Yes, he said that originally, however,
reporters asked him at later dates if he would 'stand by his word and *fire* any leakers in his administration and Bush's answer was 'yes'.
Sorry I don't have the links, but I've heard a lot of that audio on Randi's and Franken's shows on AAR.
