librarian, teacher, etc

answer 1) just said by CEO to striking nurses

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=229x2637

from original message....

....The VP of Human Resources at Aurora Health Care, Gene Krauklis, told nurses who are negotiating their contract " if you want better pensions, you should just marry well".
The CEO of that company earns 3 million a year and recently had $1.3 million put in his pension.
24 nurses in protest put on wedding gowns and asked the CEO to marry them.

.....

answer 2) remembered from a Talk of the Nation discussion about economy doing very well (discussion was in 98 or 99)

someone called in and said more or less 'well, I'm not doing well; my friends and I, retired school teachers and school librarians, are having a very difficult time economically'

the guests, economists at universities and financial firms said essentially 'it's not our fault you were dumb enough to choose to teach school or be a librarian; stupid choices are your own fault'

and they went back to talking about how everyone (except stupid people) were doing so well in the modern, 90s economy

3. In negotiations a few years ago
A board of education member brought us teachers copies of what we would make if we were babysitters instead of teachers. Of course it was double or triple what we were making. The clown thought it was funny.

30 kids x #X x 6 hours

an incredible amt per day......I would think the info would make people think 'we'll pay more for babysitters than for teachers; what is WRONG with us'??????
