1. I have him on now.
I've really become a Karel fan. I must admit, it's driving me nuts though! I live in Ga. and I loose way too much sleep listening to KGO! I listen to Karel from 10 to 1 and then to Ray from 1 to .......

5. I feel your pain!
We live just outside of Seattle, WA, and receive KGO on our bedside radio. I stay up late listening to Bernie Ward and (if I'm not asleep yet...) Ray Taliaferro, too.

I think I need to buy one of those recording radios Art Bell is hawking so I can get some sleep, too!

18. I just tune in to KGO
which is 810 on your AM dial. It comes in best at night. Sometimes the reception isn't perfect, but I can hear it.

2. Sounds Good In Chicago...
I'm listening on an Internet Radio...KGO is one of my pre-sets.

Only problem are the long silent gaps during the commercial breaks.

Speaking about accountability...now let's see if some wingnut dares to call in.

Cheers...

7. They Don't Cover Commercial Breaks...
The great things bout internet feeds are they are usually direct from the studio. So you're hearing it without a delay. If some caller goes postal, you'll hear it in it's full glory.

The stations don't want their ads on the webcasts (until someone pays for them), so they go silent during the breaks...sometimes upwards of 3 minutes.

There they go again...

Cheers...

15. I don't mind that personally
Sometimes commercials get on my nervous so I just turn it down anyways. I know they have them for sponsers and all that. But the music is nice.

17. It's When It Goes From Silence Back To Programming
I'll pop out of my office...forget I had the radio on...come back in with a fresh cup of coffee...space out having the radio on. Boom...the audio returns and I endanger myself in ways I'd rather not explain. LOL.

Being an old radio type, I get a kick out of the commercials and little glitches...reminds of me of "good old days". LOL.

Cheers...

10. KGO scrubs the commercials from the internet broadcast...
unless the advertisers pony up a little more jingle for the world to hear. No such thing as a free lunch, don't you know? ;)

8. yeh, i'm listening too - he's right here in my backyard. i don't
know what i'd do without Bernie Ward,Ray T. and Karel. Last night a number of wingnuts called in, but of course Karel made mince meat out of them in very short order. That lady suzy is a real whack job, ha ha!

9. I listen all over...
I've got a bunch of ways to pop in and listen to a lot of talk stations...fun to listen to the callers on the local and smaller stations since that's where the real "water cooler" stuff is being said.

While it's great to hear Progressive radio, and KGO has been and is one of the best (If Disney sells it, here's hoping a Progressive company like Entercom buys it), I also like to pop on the wingnut stations...including the religious ones. Take the time to listen to your adversaries since they won't take the time to know you.

11. I like the PM line-up at KGO
except for the loathesome creep Bill Watterberg.

Karel, Bernie Ward, Ray Taliaferro are all excellent, although I wish Ray wouldn't berate his callers. Sometimes I have to turn him off because he becomes so abusive.
I also like the weekend fellow, John Rothman, for his vast scope of knowledge, although he is bit too conservative for me.

During the day, I flip completely over to Air America. Ronn Owens is such a neo-con tool and don't even mention Pete Wilson to me.

13. Couldn't agree more!!!!
Wattenburg the Nazi and master of the ad hominem attack!!!!

And you mostly have John Rothmann dialed in, yet I have to admit he's come a long way lately. The only area that still bugs me about him are some of his positions on the I/P problem. By and large, Rothmann is pragmatic on most subjects and I find little fault in his logic - I can agree to disagree with him and still respect him. A gentleman.

Now, Wilson! Hoot! I figured him and his game out! The whole scam with Wilson is not necessarily what he says, but how he says it...he spins by saying something basically neutral but inflects his voice to inject a little poison spin...A snake, he is!

14. I'm listening now
I've heard him before and really enjoy his show. Whenever I was an every night Bernie listener a few times Karel filled in for him and I really liked him. One time I was listening and a caller called in and she was saying of all the trouble she was having and she couldn't take her kids places like others can and he offered to take her and her kid to a local theme park. It wasn't Disneyland but it was just as good. It was so sweet!
