My first letter to the editor
In response to the following piece of garbage by a so-called Democrat in the Asbury Park Press:

http://www.app.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20050716/OPINION/507160383/1032

Like Mr. Lawrence Dooley in his July 16 letter (Lunatic Fringe Taking Party Control), I am a registered Democrat. However, unlike Mr. Dooley, I am proud of today's national Democratic party. The actions of leaders like DNC President Howard Dean and Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid might seem like extreme actions to him, but to me, they are reactions to a majority Republican party that has been usurped by a far-right agenda that does not have the interests of the American people in mind. The actions of far-right radicals like House Majority Leader Tom DeLay, Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist, and Senator Rick Santorum are meant to appease a fringe segment of American society. These and other ranking Republicans continue to push a disastrous Social Security plan that will only benefit Wall Street big-wigs. These Republicans also continue to defend an administration that blatantly lied in order to go to war, and they continue to protect Karl Rove, a man who committed a potentially treasonous act when he outed an undercover CIA agent to several reporters. I feel that these actions are more reprehensible and anti-American than what the Democratic party has been doing, and what the Democrats are doing is just speaking the God's honest truth when it comes to speaking out against our current administration. Maybe Mr. Dooley just doesn't like hearing the truth, because as they say, the truth can hurt.

Sincerely,

3. Way to go!
Excellent letter. Please keep writing those LTTEs - your writing style is very easy to understand. I think that, along with your non-threatening tone will be very persuasive to people who are only now beginning to see the light.

4. great letter!
Can Dooley truly be a Democrat? Maybe he's been immersed in Limbaughland; average Republicans don't spew that crap, only the Faux dittoheads.

6. Thank you!
Definitely what I was thinking. The guy probably posed as a Democrat just so he can bash us (The Asbury ParK Press is a repug rag anyway. Endorsed Bush in 2004).

11. in 2004?
The editorial writer had to have been nuts after seeing Bush in action for 4 years.
(I could never figure out paragraphs either, and I've had LTTEs published all over the place.)

9. The Letters Page editor needs to be able to easily
read it, in order to decide.

Just add a paragraph break after every second sentence.

10. Thanks for the tip!
Seriously, I was always chastised about that during both high school and college.
