I'm glad to find that there is someone else who finds it okay to have
beer for breakfast: AP "BOISE, Idaho — Tillie Arnold was working at an Idaho mountain resort in 1939 when she came across an adventurous writer named Ernest Hemingway.

He was at the lodge’s restaurant eating marinated herring and drinking a beer for breakfast.

“I burst out laughing and said, ‘Mr. Hemingway, is that breakfast?’ ” Arnold wrote in her 1999 book, The Idaho Hemingway. “He said: ‘Yes, daughter. Have some. It’s good for the kidneys.’ ”

I would have liked to have breakfast with Hemingway just once. Either in Sun Valley, Key West or Tanzania. I'm not sure what his politics were, but he sounds like one of those people who lived everyday to the fullest.

1. Hemingway figured out, early on
that life is short.. (Perhaps because of the suicides in his family)..and that it;s better to just concentrate on NOW and let the other stuff just play out:)

People spend gazillions of dollars to shrinks who try to teach them how to "live in the present" and quit obsessing about the past and future..Past & Future failures/fears really screw lots of people up, and they waste the NOW, worrying about them..

All we really HAVE is NOW..
