Bush States What He Will Be Looking For In His Supreme Court Pick
His candidate also "will meet the highest standards of intellect, character and ability and will pledge to faithfully interpret the Constitution and laws of our country," the president said.

"Our nation deserves, and I will select, a Supreme Court justice that Americans can be proud of," he said, without revealing the name that many are anxious to hear.

All the qualities that Bush does not have.

2. That faithfully interpret the Constitution is such a broad statement
I don't think any one knows what it means!

Is he insinuating that past SCOTUS judges havent?

I guess we'll find out soon enough.

I also heard some RW hack talking about Shrub pretty committed to naming a Woman or an Hispanic to the court. The host of the show asked if that meant Gonzales, and the response was, not necessarily. There are a number of other names on his list that fit the bill.

I can't remember all the names, but Pricilla Owen, and someone named Garza mentioned. If Owen is on that list, I bet the other woman just confirmed (the one from the Calif. SC) is there to! I foolishly assumed those 2 women we so new to the court, they wouldn't be considered, but shame on me for injecting logic into the decision!

3. My guess is Emilio Garza
I read some capsules on possible candidates and I thought that Garza sounded like someone who Bush would appoint.

7. My guess is a woman.
Don't think it will be one of the new women, but I bet he nominates a woman.

6. "Originalist"
Or constructivist. Whatever the term. Those are the terms he's always used. I guess whoever they decide are 'originalists' will be on the short list.

4. Who knows. Maybe Bush will do something right for a change.
And I may have a threesome with Hillary Swank and Hillary Duff, too.

5. Hes a lying piece of shit
Anybody who doubts that he is going to pick somebody who is NOT approved by Demon Dobson and his friends is just out of their minds. I think they have organized another justice sunday also. This president goes out of his way to pay back his buddies and to think this will be any different? No way
