"The Guy James Show" and our "good" friends at Comcast
Last weeks show was lost on the internet because Comcast had "technical problems". I called customer service and they explained they had "undiagnosed" problems with our service. Even after talking to tech support this week we are still not assured that we'll be up and running this week. The equipment tested out ok yesterday at the radio station so we are hopeful that all is well.

What I'm saying is that something is terribly wrong. I missed much of my Guy James Show e-mail this week and coupled with the outage at the exact time of the show last week I'm beginning to think there is some sort of tin foil hat problem going on. We shall see.

2. hi Guy!
:hi:

Guy, I can't pick you up on my old desktop anymore. It dumps me every time and goes into reboot mode. I can get you on my laptop however, but it just isn't the same.

Oddly enough, I can pick-up Air America on the same desktop still. I am wondering if it is on my end or because you are broadcasting with a different signal now or something? I can also pick-up KGO at night on the desktop.

Maybe this is part of the problem?

I will be tuning in today anyway in hopes to hear you Guy! :loveya:

I hope things get worked out!

:kick:

COMCAST KILLS EMAIL FROM 'AFTERDOWNINGSTREET' COALITION!
The BRAD BLOG has learned that cable company and Internet service provider, Comcast Corporation has been automatically deleting email sent to Comcast customers with the text "http://afterdowningstreet.org" in the body of the email.

...ADS co-founder David Swanson...reported that many coalition members did not seem to be receiving email alerts and others messages being sent by the group...it was only those members...who receive email via the cable monolith's Comcast.net domain who were not receiving...notices.

...UPDATE...After our original report...Symantec...finally unblocked "http://afterdowningstreet.com" from their automated filter!...(Their) Bright Mail filter is completely automated, and due to the increasing appearance of "http://afterdowningstreet.org" in email, the...filter kicked in...

The BRAD BLOG can now confirm, however, that email...is once again flowing to Comcast.net customers!

And they SHOULD call on Monday--obviously, the automated filter story doesn't wash. It would if ADS were spamming people at random, but this was a closed mailing list of people who wanted information from ADS. And now Guy James is having trouble with them? Two coincidencs is too coincidental.

5. I'm Streaming Through Comcast
Been closely monitoring over the past 24 hours since I read about problems here and haven't seen any service problems.

Usually I encounter it at various remote servers.

Good luck and Cheers...

8. I hope you're on this week, Guy...
...one look at last week's DU thread for your show ought to convince you that there were many disappointed people in Radio Land.
