3. They have't gotten away with this one yet.
Remember the Clinton Special Counsel? This investigation can go in so many directions, besides the one it's in now.

4. Fool's Paradise
Hear the crickets...other than the usual ones that live between the ear holes on winguts? That's the silence before the truth hits. It's gonna come down on these losers like a ton of bricks.

It's not over until Pat Fitzgerald says so...and right now there are a couple of angry judges and grand jurors that just love hearing all the shit being thrown around by these morons.

Keep talking...keep denying. Judgement day is soon.

23. Agreed - GOP Spin won't stop the investigation
No matter how many times Karl Rove and Ken Mehlman declare it "dead."

9. You're right, it's dead. We are just beating a dead horse.
An administration who put a male prostitute in the WH Press Corps has no fear of the press or any kind of coverage on network news. This might last another week, tops, then some white woman will fall to mischief and Rove will be forgotten.

12. Believe it or not, a scandal involving treason is waking America up.
Stealing elections? No big thing. Starting illegal wars? No big thing. Treason? VERY BIG THING.

24. this is much bigger than just TURD BLOSSOM
it goes much much deeper .. Rove was the dupe

When the CIA wouldn't go along with the neocon program and "spice up" their analyses with Ahmed Chalabi's tall tales and the outright forgery of the Niger uranium documents, the War Party struck back at them with the sort of viciousness for which the neocons are rightly renowned.

The neocons had a fix on their target; now the question was how to get someone else to pull the trigger. The leakers, in order to protect themselves, "laundered" the leak through journalists (Judith Miller, one of their favorite conduits) and Bush operatives – Rove.

it is about the BIG DOG

16. It is far from dead.
It may have given Karl Rove a wee bit of breathing room, but he is still guilty of corraborating that Valerie Plame was a undercover operative, which is just as bad as cold calling Novak himself. Also, there is the question of who gave Judith Miller the name. There is definitely a reason why Novak and Cooper were cleared to give their source and Miller decided to go to prison instead.

29. The longer it takes
The more that Rove and company keep contradicting themselves. With every new statement, they keep digging temselves deeper and deeper. Throwing out different stories to confuse the masses is fine if you are only dealing with the media. But, as Rove's lawyer found out, some public staements may have unintended consequences when you are dealing with a criminal investigation.

27. yeah, i've noticed a real shortage of discussion of it too.
if by "shortage" one means "a whole fuckton everywhere one looks".

even RW'ers (aside from the increasing numbers that are having "buyer's remorse") can't stop talking about how it's a dead issue. that's how you know it's not.

welcome to DU.
