The plan seems to have been, have someone leak to Miller, have her leak to Novak and Cooper, have two Administration officials call Novak and get him to leak to them while at the same time have them confirm Plame was CIA so Novak would write the story, making it look like they didn't know anything about what happened. Then have Rove call Cooper and have Cooper leak to Rove just like with Novak. After Rove gets off the phone with Cooper, to cover himself Rove sends an e-mail reporting that Cooper told him that Plame was CIA even though he confirmed that she was CIA to make sure Cooper would write a story.

Meanwhile it looks like everyone is covered and can't be touched by the law and anyone looking into this would just give up.

Then enters Fitzgerald who smelled fish and didn't give up.

Did I get it right or did I miss something?

2. I am only mentioning those we know for sure. Do you think Scooter
leaked to Miller or was one of the two officials that talked to Novak and confirmed Plame was CIA?

3. Not sure, but I'd bet he was one source. Read this:

Moreover, evidence suggests that President Bush was aware as early as October 2003 that Rove and I. Lewis “Scooter” Libby, Vice President Dick Cheney’s chief of staff, were the sources who leaked Plame’s undercover CIA status to reporters. And after the president was briefed about the issue the president said publicly that the source of the leak will never be found.

Furthermore, a few aides to Condoleeza Rice, then head of the National Security Council, may have played a role as well by being the first officials to learn about Plame’s role as a CIA operative and giving that information to Rove, Libby and other senior administration officials.

6. I think Gannon was used to leak to Miller (or whoever)
I think that idiot was brought in to serve such a purpose but I don't know the entire timeline backwards and forwards so I could be wrong.

It would make sense (to me)that Gannon was given the goods on Plame (shown classified info etc) that is why he wasn't signed in and out of the WH.

That way if everything were to blow sky high this could be pinned on Gannon being a rogue nosy guy in the whitehouse snooping around.

4. Excellent summary - I think that's what the WH will use as their "defense"
but I don't believe that these crooks actually plotted and planned out this as cleverly and well...I also think that there are far more people involved from the White House and I also believe that in the end, even if your scenario was proven to be the case, I think that Fitzgerald will eventually be able to prosecute based on the "coverup" of the crime, not the crime itself.

5. You missed the important point
Cooper was not supposed to testify. The Novak/Rove cooked up story does not fly if Cooper tells that Rove leaked to him. No mention of Miller.
