Something I was wondering with the Rove/Wilson/Plame case
I was wondering. What all is Fitzgerald looking at? Just at the outing of the agent or other things as well? I think everything is all tied together. Ohio 2004 to Iraq. If one thing came out everything else would as well. I think Fitzgerald is going onto something even bigger then just Rove and was wondering if anybody knew what all he was doing? Thanks.

1. Possibly violations of the 1917
Espionage Act. Charges might include conspiracy, treason, obstruction of justice. Pretty serious stuff. I'll see if I can find a copy of it.

2. Thanks
I'd like to know what's all in the act. I'm aware of it but not what's all in it.

3. Here is an excerpt
(By giving out an undercover agents name and operation, they have injured the United States)

1917 ESPIONAGE ACT
(excerpt and summary)
Section 2. (a) Whoever, with intent or reason to believe that it is to be used to the injury or the United States or to the advantage of a foreign nation, communicated, delivers, or transmits, or attempts to, or aids, or induces another to, communicate, deliver or transmit, to any foreign government, or to any faction or party or military or naval force within a foreign country, whether recognized or unrecognized by the United States, or to any representative, officer, agent, employee, subject, or citizen thereof, either directly or indirectly and document, writing, code book, signal book, sketch, photograph, photographic negative, blue print, plan, map, model, note, instrument, appliance, or information relating to the national defense, shall be punished by imprisonment for not more than twenty years: Provided, That whoever shall violate the provisions of subsection (a) of this section in time of war shall be punished by death or by imprisonment for not more than thirty years; and

(b) whoever, in time of war, with intent that the same shall be communicated to the enemy, shall collect, record, publish or communicate, or attempt to elicit any information with respect to the movement, numbers, description, condition, or disposition of any of the armed forces, ships, aircraft, or war materials of the United States, or with respect to the plans or conduct, or supposed plans or conduct of any naval of military operations, or with respect to any works or measures undertaken for or connected with, or intended for the fortification of any place, or any other information relating to the public defense, which might be useful to the enemy, shall be punished by death or by imprisonment for not more than thirty years.

4. I hope you're right. Will we find Jimmy Hoffa's grave?
Seriously, you make a good point. I would dearly love to see Ohio 2004 solved. If Fitzgerald does that and exposes the crime of the century (part 2), I say make him the only justice on the Supreme Court.

The thing to watch is a larger espionage story. The rumor mill says that he's pissed about his short stint in 2001 as special prosecutor here. He was about to bust some Muslim charities funneling money to bin Lootin but they trashed all the evidence just before the Feds arrived for the search. Supposedly he's getting tips from within the government, angry people with a lot of knowledge.

But Ohio 2004, nah. Maybe after * "resigns."

Great Election Fraud Tool

5. The memo on Plame came out in early June - as a result of Wilson's
leaks to reporters on the Niger phony memo. He was being a source for a few articles in May/June. The memo was dated June 10th I think. Was seen in Powell's briefcase in early July.

So who ordered to memo? It mentioned Valerie Wilson all over the place. And if Condi's office at the time was in the know enough to say to Wilson when he called "why don't you write a story" in response to a question he asked her staff....he, his trip & his wife's name were common knowledge in the WH.

So for Rove to say that journalists were the source of the info on Plame when there was that hot little memo floating around the WH for one full month...does this make actual sense?

Reak the latest NYTimes article.

Curiouser & curiouser.
